Standing on your feet all day can cause extreme muscle stress. One thing that would really help is if your father would get a plywood board long enough for his body and place one end up on a chair or sofa and the other end on the floor. He should lay with his legs up and head down for 30 minutes after work. This is going to relieve the pain and help with the circulation.

Have your father Take a hot bath with 2c. of dissolved Epsom salts. Soak for 30 minutes. The Epsom salts will help eliminate the lactic acid that forms on the muscles from over exertion.

Massage an analgesic cream into the sore muscles.

Dehydration can cause severe pain in the muscles. I recommend your father drink purified water mixed with mineral water 50/50. This will replace the minerals that are exiting your body continuously.

I suggest that adults and children drink 40 ounces of water per 100 pounds of body weight every day.

if none of the above helps after one week I suggest your father see a chiropractor for body Alignment.

I would recommend that he have this checked out by his doctor to see what they think is going on. A consultation with a podiatrist (a doctor that treats problems that occur in the feet) might also be helpful in trying to figure out what is causing the pain in his feet.

If he's obese, he needs to lose weight.

If he's not obese, this could be a sign of problems with his tendons, or even a misalignment in his cartilage. He should seek professional medical assistance.
