1) Grilled vegetables: Asparagus, carrots, mushrooms, onions, red peppers, brocolli and garlic seasoning.

2) Hashed browns...better than a baked potato!

3) fruit salad

4) Green bean casserole: (green beans, cream of mushroon soup and french fried onions)

Hope this helps! These are the things my parents usually make when we have a steak dinner.

If you want to do something a little different try garlic smashed potatoes. Sounds good, right? It's really easy...Try getting those little red skinned potatoes. Cut each peice into four. Boil until tender. Smash the potatoes with the skin on still. Then heat up half a cup of milk. When it's hot add a couple of peeled garlic cloves. Add a little salt and pepper. Add it to the smashed potatoes and add some butter if you want or more salt. The taste of the garlic will be subtle enough to give a tasty kick to the potatoes.
Instead of doing corn on the cob why don't you try getting a bag of those seasoned veggie mixes or veggie steamers from Birds Eye in the frozen food aisle. They're easy to fix and you don't have to worry about how to season them. Enjoy!

Do you mean in addition to the corn and potatoes? If so,then you could serve a nice salad, cole slaw, baked beans, almost anything. If you want something instead of corn and potatoes, what about a nice California blend( broccoli, cauliflower and carrots),a rich, homemade macaroni and cheese, sliced tomatoes or any of the other things suggested above.

What about homemade macaroni salad with lots of diced fresh tomatoes, cucumber (use an English cuke so you don't have those seeds staring up at you), chopped Bermuda onion, chopped hard-boiled egg, and celery. I've seen people add olives, but that's not a favorite of mine. Use real mayonnaise and add a dash of French's mustard for a little tartness and color. Homemade is better because you can add as much or as little of each veggie that you like and you can control how much mayo so it's not soupy like that stuff you get at the deli.

We always eat cut up cucumbers, tomatoes, cilantro with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. It's a good combo. Sometimes you can add navy beans or black eyed beans. That's good too.

Try cous cous, it's a great carbohydrate substitue for potato or corn. Just make sure to ad a lot of flovour to it because it can be pretty boring on its own. You can use a fruit juice as the liquid for cooking, ad some raisins, or go crazy and ad all sorts of char grilled vegitables to the mix....SENSATIONAL!
