Again, not being disrespectful, a serious question. How can it be called "Free Will", if choosing in only one way will not lead to eternal torment. Not much of a choice, not really a choice at all.

The glaring flaw in the 'If we don't obey the law , we go to jail bunch, is that we can go to Hell without choosing at all. Nice try, buddy.

And, of course, let's not forget our planet mates, literally millions of them, who've never even heard the"Gospel", Christ, or Christianity, what of their "Free Will."

God says do what you wish, but make the wrong choice and you will be tortured for eternity in hell. That's not free will. It's like a man telling his girlfriend, do what you wish, but if you choose to leave me, I will track you down and blow your brains out. When a man says this we call him a psychopath. When god says the same we call him "loving" and build churches in his honor.- William C. Easttom II
According to Christianity, eternal suffering awaits anyone who questions God's infinite love. That's the message we're brought up with, believe or die. "Thank you, forgiving Lord, for all those options." --Bill Hicks
So revolting to my moral nature is the creed of eternal punishment that it, more than any other cause, produces the most widespread unbelief. Compared with this, all objections to Christianity fade to insignificance. --Loren Anderson

having only 2 choices is STILL a choice. It makes it a lot easier to have only 2 choices as opposed to.........10's , 100's, etc. Freedom is the right to choose. Just because we don't understand the way God set things up, doesn't mean they are wrong or bad....we are ignorant, and think we are smart. Love involves "free will". The people who love you do it by choice, not because they are being forced. I don't know you, therefore, I don't believe in you, but does that mean YOU do not exist????.........God exists whether anyone believes or not. Our time here on earth is for having the opportunity to choose where we will spend eternity: with Him or without Him.

God created the perfect plan for all his children, free will is to either choose eternal life a life free from sin,or choose living in the worlds way of doing things like sexually immorality, addiction etc....these things lead to death at the end, this is free will we do not have to accept God and yes we will be lost, but who would be that foolish when God has and owns everything and wants to give you the best ,and whats so fun about being in bondage and miserable.

kind of like sayiong that you have a buffet laid out in front of you and you have free choice.
you could choose to not eat and die.
Having that as a choice does not nullify the FACT that you DO have free will to choose, even if the choice is just between something good for you and something bad for you. Not having the choice would be your going to hell NO MATTER WHAT YOU DID OR BELIEVED!, or being programmedto function in only one way and NOT BEING ABLE TO CHOOSE

Well religion was supposedly created because man had turned against god, so Jesus sacrificed himself as an example to man, dying so that mankind may once be redeemed if they followed his teachings, or something like that.
Quote - "So, using your "logic" we have no freedoms at all because if we break the law we go to prison. Not much of a choice there either." Does the First Amendment not grant you freedom ? , Are the Laws not there to protect the free life you live ?
Those are the laws set by our wonderful human logic, because they protect our freedoms, the only freedoms god's rules protect is the "freedom" of your soul, which is extremely minor compared to what we know exists. We don't have laws governing the rights of Artificially Intelligent Life either, because it doesn't exist yet, protecting what isn't there makes no sense at all.
Using religion's logic, the only reason your religion is right is because it can't be disproved, now that is illogical.
See here for proof: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Argument_from_ignorance
Because FACTS REQUIRE PROOF.

I still don't see how people can say it's still a choice. Free will in christianity is like someone holding a gun to your head ans saying give me your money and you're spared but if you don't I'm going to pull the trigger.
Christianity is a washed up religion. Every so often a new "prophet" comes along with a newer, fresher message and that religion will start getting a new following. In the 600's it was Mohammad and in the 1800's it was Bahaullah.

What really makes me mad is that you could be saved and not know it but these people are making you want to reject God just so they can't say they brought you into their church. It's more like they put a gun to your head and you chose not to get shot! You ask yourself why you should even bother serving a God that would kill you for not worshipping it. And then you think of all the beliefs and practices you are told to voluntarily give up or you will die. You just want to say,"Shoot and save me all the trouble of living life as a slave. I want my life back but if I'm going to hell anyway, you might as well shoot!"

What is hell? If you don't choose to have a relationship with God maybe that is hell from a believer's point of view. Just don't close your mind, utilise your free will to keep thinking and asking. In many countries these days people don't have that privilege.

if people don't hear the name of Christ then it is our fault as Christians. It was our command given to us by Jesus Christ himself to "go and make disciples of all nations". It is our job to get the word out. no one in the US can say they've never heard His name one way or another. That seed has been planted...therefore the choice is made...yes or no....your free will.

You'll only have a problem with free will if you believe that you have the ability to choose God. If we don't have that ability, then we can still have free will, but none of it leads to God and therefore he must rescue us from our condition. And the Bible supports this with numerous examples of man's condition before God. If we are guilty, then all of us deserve hell. That makes the Christian no more worthy than the non-Christian, and very thankful for a God who does care enough to pull them away from their condition in spite of themselves. For those who do not believe, God is still glorified. No one seeks him, we are guilty anyway.
