As a Christian, I cannot recall seeing where God said we should marry a person only based on religion. In any event, I don't believe that is what God wants for us. He wants us to marry a person we love. Who knows? That person might be an Aborigine in the outback of Australia, for example.

If you are asking for yourself, I say marry the person you love and go with what's in your heart. As long as the person loves you, respects you, treats you right and you do the same for him/her, go for it!

As to religion making people separate, well unfortunately, it has. Look at Northern Ireland, for instance, where it separates Catholic from Protestant. Many have misused religion and that is sad, but I can't do anything about that. While I'm a Christian, I think we all have the right to believe what we want. I think Christianity is the best route and that is my belief. You may think being a Wicca or a Hindu is the best route and that is your belief. We all need to be proud of our own beliefs, but respectful of others and I try to do that in my own life. If we each did that, religion would not separate people.

Religion will never separate you from your love ones. Religion will even tie you up with your love one if you only want it to be.
