I have done 120 mph in a 2001 ram 2500 cummins turbo diesel that was stock.In a 91 cummins I did 90 on the top end.

Gets 20 mph on express way.

These truck have high horsepower and high torque
they are a little slower on the bottom end(take off)
but on the top end (65 or faster) they are really quick
they are even quicker with turbo diesel engines.

Since diesels are limited by the governor on the engine, you would have to know the differential gear ratios. Identical trucks with different rear end ratios will not go the same speed. My son-in-law had one with 4.11 gears and it would run 79 mph. Mine with 3.55 gears run 92. Those were '91 and '92 models respectively. Newer trucks tach out faster so naturally with those ratios they would be faster, unless they are limited with an ASD.
Get with your friend and go fast and read the speedometer.

isn't there 3 different motor sizes in those trucks. anyways they are not slow trucks
