Christianity is very confusing; or christians are very confused. No one is singing off the same sheet of music.

That is a good point you have made Lisa the Bible does say that only 144,000 not necessarily only Jews though, will go to heaven and not everyone good, but it also says for what reason those 144,000 will go there and if one does not know what this reason is then can that person rightfully expect to go to heaven? But the Bible also tells us what prospect the rest of the faithful humanity have(Matthew5:5 ; Psalm37:11,29) also (Isaiah45:18)tells us for what purpose the earth was created.

The book of Revelation was not intended by John to be taken at face value. Nothing in it indicates an at face value reading. Is that manipulation or is it just reading the work according to its genre and linguistic/literary ques? I don't think so, but you have to judge that for yourself. The 144, 000 is symbolic of Israel, viz 12 tribes times 12,000 from every tribe. The number is unimagineable. John also talks about a great multitude from among every tribe and nation at the Lamb's throne (chapter seven). So, which is it...144,000 Jews or people from every people group and not just Jews? Add to that the New Testament teaching that the Church (the people of Christ) is true Israel, and the answer becomes obvious...an unimagineable number of people will be saved outside of the Jewish culture/religion. Christ is for all people where they are culturally and geographically and historically.

This is based on an interpretation of the book of revelation which became popular first during the 19th century and is not usually considered of great merit amongst scholars for several reasonssuch as that the reccentness of the theory 2 the need to reinterpret many other prophetic books to get the theory to fit 3 that it tends to not fit with any other theory 4 that it is also dependent ona theory of two different groups being God's chosen. There are other theories of the interpretation which might be much more beneficial and less abstarct for your study if you were trying to actually understand it.

Through out the bible God brings a remnant of Jews through because they are the chosen people of God "Apple of His Eye." This continues to the very end of Earth when during the tribulation 144,000 practicing Jews come to faith in Jesus Christ. they will actually become the teachers of the Christian faith and will save many. Read the Scriptures carefully.

I'm an Atheist and yes, it says that there are 144,000 Jews from each tribe. And then later it says a multitude that is too many to be counted or something like that. It's just pointing out that there will be Jews. So, that's why they think they will because the Bible says they will. They aren't wrong about that one.

And I heard the number of those which were sealed: and there were one hundred and forty-four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel (Rev 7:4).
Now that is very plain isn't it? How many are sealed? One hundred and forty-four thousand. Who are they? Of all of the tribes of Israel. What could be plainer than that? So that is the one hundred and forty-four thousand. They are sealed now. Later on we will come across them again as we see them protected from various judgments that are coming.
And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth (Rev 9:3-4),neither any green thing, neither any tree [the general diet of the locust]; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads (Rev 9:4).
These are the young men of the thirteen tribes who will be sealed so that they are protected during the tribulation. They will be here on earth after the rapture and their job will be to continue winning souls for God, before Christ does step down upon the Mount of Olives.
the Jehovah Witnesses think that they are the one hundred and forty-four thousand. And Herbert W. Armstrong in his plain truth of the World Tomorrow says, "No, we are the one hundred and forty-four thousand." And if you will double and triple tithe to the church of God, you can become one of the hundred and forty-four thousand, the inner circle. And when the precise time comes we will send you a telegram that you can flee to this wilderness where we have prepared survival for the one hundred and forty-four thousand.

Read the beginning of Revelation. It is a book that is signified[signs] and full of symbolic numbers. The 144,000 of all twelve tribes is a symbolic number of all saved souls. Now,read Rev.2:9 about modern-day Israeli Jews.Pop-prophecy is Zionism's best weapon against Christians. And the JW'S are just as duped. They believe only 144,000 will be saved. They keep revising that doctrine to find other roles for the rest of them in the afterlife.

Oh man...I thought Jehovah Witnesses laid claim to that figure of 144,000. That's the trouble with religion...people keep changing the rules. In any case, I am neither, so I probably don't stand a chance, even though I try to be good and I try to sprinkle a little humor here and there...like magic dust.

I don't care how many Jews go to heaven. I know that accepting Jesus and always forgiving others means that I am going to heaven. If I were Jewish, I would be accepting Jesus, too! By the way, the 144,000 you are referring to are going to be 12,000 perfectly righteous descendants from each from the 12 tribes of Israel. And if you are still alive when that happens, please remember to accept Jesus as Christ.

God Bless you for your question...
Lisa, if you read that in it's context, the 144,000 jews are the remnant that God has preserved throught the tribulations who accept Christ as their Lord. The faithful who have already put their trust in Christ prior to the final judgements are already in Heaven. No manipulation needed, just proper interpretation of the Scriptures...
