Bartleby.com is an online reference that includes encyclopedia, dictionary, thesaurus and English usage sections.

You can handle the quote in a number of ways. Here is how I would handle it, but I suggest you re-read your copy of MLA to make sure I have instructed you correctly.

----------------

Bernice Sandler, in testimony she gave on June 19, 1970in the "Discrimination Against Women," hearings before the special subcommittee on education of the Committee on Education and Labor, House of Representatives said,

"Sex prejudice is so ingrained in our society that many who practice it are simply unaware that they are hurting women. It is the last socially acceptable prejudice."

-------------

Of course, you need to add footnotes according to MLA instructions and then use the citation for the source of the quotation.

------------------

Here is the citation:

Respectfully Quoted: A Dictionary of Quotations Requested from the Congressional Research Service. Washington D.C.: Library of Congress, 1989; Bartleby.com, 2003. www.bartleby.com/73/. [July 8, 2007].

----------------

P.S. After I posted this I read the comments of the person above with whom I respectfully disagree.

If you read the rules of use on the Bartleby site, you will see that they specifically request the citation I have given you. As you did not personally review the records at the Library of Congress, you need to do it this way or you are in violation of their terms of usage.

Check out this excerpt from http://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/557/10/

A Lecture or Speech

Include speaker name, title of the speech (if any) in quotes, details about the meeting or event where the speech was given, including its location and date of delivery. In lieu of a title, label the speech according to its type, e.g., Guest Lecture, Keynote Address, State of the Union Address.

Stein, Bob. Keynote Address. Computers and Writing Conference. Union Club Hotel, Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN. 23 May 2003.

You see, the quotation was made by a particular woman at a congress hearing. So you would want to cite her, not bartleby.com (which is like an online book source).

I think your cite should look like this:

Sandler, Bernice. Testimony. Committe on Education and Labor, House of Representatives, 91st Congress, 2d session, part 1, p.302. 19 June 1970.
