According to the Bible, the reason people need Jesus is for forgiveness of sins. Since an aborted baby has not yet had the chance to sin, it does not need Jesus, and therefore goes to heaven. And yes, an aborted baby already has a soul so it has to go somewhere. You can also look at this from the viewpoint of God being just. How could a just God send a baby to hell that hasn't had the chance to get saved. He can't. All logical reasoning and reading the Bible point to aborted babies going to heaven.

Heaven. Babies that end up dying go to heaven, so it's the same as an aborted child. In defense of what you said about salvation and how babies don't know those things..wouldn't that be as true with a baby who died..say at 2 or 3?

According to the old version of Catholicism, the unbaptized babies went neither, but to an intermediate place with no chance of salvation but not enduring punishment. You do recall that the only way to go to hell is to actively deny God and refuse salvation? At least by old theology - not the current "you are damned unless reborn" stuff.
According to recent stories, the current Pope is have a committee look at whether this is the case. This may be partly because more and more evidence is coming forward that as many as 40% of conceptions are twins with one of the twins not making it, so 3% of births are twins. Also, a rather high percentage of conceptions fail before the mother is aware of the pregnancy.
I find it amazing that the Catholic Church so sure that fetuses have a soul from conception but has failed to come up with a way to baptise them in the womb.

I'm Catholic, and I know what the bible says, but I truly think that's up to iterpretation. I do not believe you have to be saved in order to go to heaven. All souls go to heaven. The only pre-recquisite is that you're a good person. Even those who do not believe in God will go to heaven. They won't go to hell just b/c they don't believe. There's a special place in heaven for babies who like that--who died prematurely or who were aborted. Their souls are cared for by angels. No, they do NOT go to hell.

lol Well If there is a heaven or hell and assuming God does not like abortions, they would go to heaven. Why? Because it was not the fetus's choice as to whether it was aborted or not which is why it would not be judged accordingly. This is sorta similar to the animal theory on whether animals go to heaven or hell, and according the the Bible, Torah and Quaran - they all cite that they are pure forms and are incapable of free will (similar to a newborn baby).

before I answer this question, I am going to respond to comments that have been brought up before with this same question- "No, it is not better for a child to be aborted so they automatically go to heaven"- sorry that theory does not work- there is NO excuse for abortions- however thanks to the mercy of God, those babies are in heaven- because they were not given the chance to make the choice for salvation. They were not given a chance to live and become accountable. God is love- and of course, they are in heaven, but that does not make it right that they were aborted.

Heaven. Clearly the aborted child has not committed a sin or anything. God is all just and He does not punish someone just because he did not live to work for his salvation. Punishing a baby to hell will go against God's nature.

U don't hav to be saved. If a baby is aborted it's not their fault their mother and/or father wanted to murder them. They go to heaven because all children are born pure of heart and will go direct to heven if dead at a very early age. U really dont hav to be saved if u belong to my religion u just hav to be cured of original sin wihc an aborted baby would never hav the chance to do , but hat isnt their fault once again/

It seems possible. King David had a child with Bathsheba. The child died as an infant, and David, as he mourned, seemed to indicate that he'd see the child,
"While the child was yet alive, I fasted and wept; for I said, Who can tell whether GOD will be gracious to me, that the child may live? But now he is dead, why should I fast? Can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me" -2 Samuel 12:22-23

What if it would have been Jewish? Or any other religion that doesn't believe in the divinity of Jesus Christ? Are you implying that these people go to hell, aborted or not?
