Stick with angels and not spirit guides. Little children and heirs of salvation certainly do have a special watch; but the "location" may not be what most think. Read Matthew 18:10 and Hebrews 1:14.

We love company, though, so we tend to accumulate voices from our parents, teachers and others 'in our heads' which can seem like guardian angels.
Whenever this tendency gets carried overboard, it develops into a mental illness called schizophrenia, which usually starts off with imaginary characters that talk to you in entertaining ways, then devolves into negative thoughts and feelings that can result in murder or suicide.
It is my theory that Abraham was schizophrenic, which is why both he and his God seem fixated on killing their sons.

No. I believe we all have brains that we can think with and guide ourselves. Unfortuantly some of ours work better than others.
