The lists have been a bit unstable, or "flaky" ... it's teething problems in a fairly new part of the system which is still bedding down. The lists on Answers Italia were extremely unstable and all over the place for a couple of months (there were 5 different versions of the languages list!) but it looks like they've settled down and become more reliable now. I always see Martha P with 1200 ... I think it makes a difference that my account is in Answers Italia - I get a more stable view.

Probably 1200 in society and culture but only 600 in languages. The latter is a subset of the former.

Edit: Apparently not. Sometimes Yahoo is just flaky.

They never fixed the problem with the top answerer lists.
