Just this evening I was visiting with friends who had a similiar experience with their dog. They said what they discovered was that their dog had eaten a frog. Apparantly they can be poisioness. I have been told that licking the back of a frog can even give you a sort of high feeling although I gotta say I have never tried it lol Also I thought maybe it could be from Roundup or snail bait?

He may have eaten a lizard or toad. They can be toxic. Labs will pretty much eat anything....at least my two will. I'm glad he's ok. Be very careful letting him out; watch him to make sure he doesn't get into things like trash or get poisoned food from someone who doesn't want him in the yard. Also, some rat poisons will have that effect on animals.

Honestly, it sounds like he got electrocuted. Sounds like he chewed on an electrical cord and shocked himself. There are no obvious signs of injury but the symptoms are pretty much just that... no outward signs, seizures, loss of motor skills, platelets drop from the shock... There are very rarely any indications of the injury but just the symptoms and there aren't any tests to confirm the findings.

Hmm...

What did the vet suggest for the cause, out of curiousity?

That is really odd, but very lucky. Happy your dog is ok.

Sounds very like symptoms of organic phosphate poisoning.
Any insecticides around that he might have got into???
