What is your definition of a sect?

The Catholic Church seeks and supports the freedom of religion for all human beings.

In the Vatican II document, Declaration on Religious Freedom, Dignitatis Humanae (Human Dignity), the Church states:

The human person has a right to religious freedom. This freedom means that all men are to be immune from coercion on the part of individuals or of social groups and of any human power, in such wise that no one is to be forced to act in a manner contrary to his own beliefs, whether privately or publicly, whether alone or in association with others, within due limits.

For the entire document, see: http://www.vatican.va/archive/hist_councils/ii_vatican_council/documents/vat-ii_decl_19651207_dignitatis-humanae_en.html

With love in Christ.

The Catholic Church warns the faithful of heretical and schismatic sects and the danger to the soul if one were to follow these sects. There is salvation only in the Roman Catholic church. The Orthodox church is in schism with the Roman Catholic church and we pray for the return of the Orthodox church to the authority of the Roman Pontiff (Rock of Peter).

The Catholic Church fights no one. The Church understands our ability to reason and God's gift to us of freewill.

If a person leaves their denomination or religion and is seeking answers and help, then the Catholic Church will offer all the help a person asks for. RCIA classes are not only for people converting and coming into the Church, but is also offered to non-Catholics, free of any costs, with no obligation of becoming Catholic, simply that they may learn what the Catholic Church really is and what it really believes.

You DO understand that a sect is just another version of the same religion, don't you? For example, a sect of Christianity would be any of the following - Lutheran, Methodist, Baptist, and CATHOLIC.

May be you meant cults?
