I think I know where you are going with this. No. Because it's outdated, like the Bible. The Bible actually takes some of it's codes from it.

It's a code of laws to be followed in the time of Hammurabi, the ruler. What does belief have to do with it? I believe in the ideas presented in the Declaration of Independence - I support the laws in the Constitution, I don't believe in them.

I believe that there was a ruler named Hammurabi, and that under his direction laws were codified.

Hammurabi was a nasty dude. Yes.

Note : Would like to add that the codex of Ur-Nammu was a older, and much more strict (in my opinion). Can't forget Ur-Nammu.

Very outdated -- and even immoral.

So much of the laws accept slavery, polygamy and various other practices, such as, "If the slave of a freed man strike the body of a freed man, his ear shall be cut off."

And even in areas that we agree are wrong (such as stealing), it goes to extreme lengths:

"If any one is committing a robbery and is caught, then he shall be put to death."

its what the majority of human beings in this world live by regardless of whether or not they recongnize it.
Thats their version of justice.
