i have a question concerning hair?

why do some peoples hair turn grey sooner then others? iam 58 yr. old man and iam greyer then some people ive seen at my age and some younger that are turning grey in their 20s and 30s.

Good morning Studmuffin.....I believe that grey hair comes from our hereditary and genetics that our parents and their parents have passed down to our generation. I also feel it all depends on the stress level. Combination of all three. Grey hair is the loss of color pigmentation in the hair follicle itself so when ones new hair growth starts anew instead of the natural color that it once developed it has turned grey due to the loss of the color pigmentation. That is why that some individuals can end up with the salt/pepper look because not all of the hair follicles have lost their pigmentation while others are completely covered with grey. Also some experts have stated that individuals may have become grey quicker than others due to harsh chemicals placed on the hair due to bleaches, color, perms and straighteners that have damaged the hair follicles during these processes. because the more u stress and the more u think the more grey hair u will have. that why people that is a doctor usually have grey hair when they are only 30 year old. they stress more and think alot. well hope this help
