It just seems to me that they can never shut up about themselves. Its not like they actually live up to what they always say.

"First to fight." - yeah right, Army Rangers and Special Forces are always there first.

"We are all rifleman." - LOL, many of the marines i've met can barely spell rifleman, much less actually know how to shoot

"We are tougher because our basic is longer." - oh wow, a few more weeks of walking to a range and missing their targets. That sure sounds tough to me.

Inferiority complex. They really can not stand admitting the their real title is United States Naval Marine Corp. They basically are Navy infantry. Thanks for pointing out we are there first. Not only long before any of them ever think, but 95% of the time they have no clue about the situation developing.

Just read some of your answers to other questions concerning Marines. Since you don't have ANY of your facts straight and you're so full of anger towards Marines which is it? You got kicked out of the Marines or you got dumped by a Marines?

You're confused about Marines bragging. They are just proud of who they are. Other branches may not in still that pride. But, all who serve their country SHOULD be proud. Let the cowards hide behind their computers and call names. The ones with pride to serve pay the price so the cowards can run their lips. Freedom of Speech. To bad the cowards are jealous about the pride service men and women have and don't want them to exercise the same Freedom. The ones that fought and earned the right aren't suppose to use it????

As for the guy that answered this question and claimed to be a retired Navy Seal. Perhaps he should watch GI Jane. Then he would know that Navy and Marines both have troops in the Seals. Seals are Special Ops. Marines are still first to fight during war time.

I wrestled a Marine once. He was too drunk to drive. I will never forget it. He drove. I was lying twisted on the ground.

I think a Marine has everything to be proud about their title. And I think our Rangers and Special Forces do to.

They all have a different job to do.

Support the Military as a whole instead of a specific unit. Understand that they all have their jobs to do. Not everyone can do Marine training, but not all can do Navy Seal or Special Ops either. It's more about the person than the Military job they feel they need to fulfill.

edited to provide this fact. and it is fact.. There's a reason they are called the Proud and the Few. I love my Marines, I'm privileged to know many of them, and I'm former Army and I stand by my Army buddies also. We are Military.

You've got a lot of guts considering they are the first ones to go into battle. The Marines are Shock Troops, sent in first to take out the main assaults, then army infantry clean up what's left. They are some of the most precision marksmen on the face of this earth. The Marines are actually the first to fight in war, Rangers are usually for special operations, much like the MFR of the Marines, which do covert and illegal operations. You should be ashamed for saying what you've said.

jealousy is an ugly thing. In order to become a Marine a recruit has to qualify with a rifle, we don't just walk around with them. We have a different PFT then everyone else a little bit tougher. We also have more combat training after bootcamp 24 days out in the field MCT for all non grunt SOI for all grunts.Plus we have a reason to be proud, most of us study our history, we know a lot of our battles. Not to say the Army, Navy and Air-force don't but we love the history and are proud. So quit being bitter,

I don't know what your issue and yes you certainly have an issue, but this is the wrong place for your bs.

We have more important enemies here and don't need that type of interservice bs.

I'll be glad to have a marine in the fight with me any day of the week. Somehow I doubt I could make the same statement of you. Somehow I think you would be more like someone I'd have to worry about.

Don't know who you are and frankly I don't care. Straighten up or stay away.

Ok, heres the scoop. Marines have a high reputation to uphold and a long standing tradition. I am not degrading nor am I saying that the other branches are weaker. I am prior service, non-marine. If you notice, you had to put in the S.F. and the Rangers, as well as the Airborne units prior to the Marines. First to fight, as far as non-special unit,...maybe. At least they are there defending that which gives us the right to type what we are typing now. I understand your question. Let them stand as they are.

So how many times did you try to get in the Marines? Upset because you couldn't hack it? Whatever the reason, your bitterness is obvious. Don't feel bad, former Heavyweight boxing champ Buster Douglas couldn't handle boot camp either. And we are not bragging, we ARE that good! And we shoot from two hundred yards father than any other service on the rifle range. And as far as First To Fight, I give you the entire Pacific during WWII. Any other silly comments, bring them out and I'll be happy to slap them down as well. Silly little boy.

What is it with you and your hatred toward the Marines. They have ever God damn right to brag! I bet you're just some loser that couldn't make it in to the Marines or any other military branch. And the answer you gave to my question was horrible. I will not dump my boyfriend just because he wants to join the Marines. I'm going to support him.

The marines only believe that they are the best because they were broken down in basic training and literally rebuilt as new individuals, with a fresh mind set, telling themselves that they are the best.

The military does not have the proper funds or time to exercises the precise steps necessary in creating a perfect soldier. So, obviously, the next best thing would be to simply brainwash a whole bunch of them to truly believe that they are invincible and that nothing can stop them.

The military needs as many bodies as they can get a hold of, so they have no problem throwing a soldier out on the front line who is at 70%, but thinking he is at 100%

Also, the marines are a segment of the navy. They own their asses! lol

why are people giving me bad ratings?
i'm just putting out facts.
sorry i'm not an opinionated jerk like every other person with a tongue in his mouth.

The marines are trainned to be able to get out themselves out of real work and spend all day sucking cock.

Besides special forces, they go through the toughest mental and physical training, are the first combat troops into a conflict, and are some of the bravest people I've ever encountered. They earned their bragging rights. What have you done lately?
