My sister puts a rag in hot water && puts it in the microwave for a while so it can get hotter. THEN she washes her face good with soap && water. THEN without drying her face she puts rubbing alcohol on her zits. She says it really works but does it really?

Alcohol really dries out your skin! That's why so many face products proclaim "alcohol free." Toothpaste works for some. Just search google:

Well this does not work all of the time but it does however for the most part... when you place a very hot rag on your face it opens up your pores so when you wash your face it helps to better get the dirt out of your pores, which causes zits in the first place. Rubbing alcohol does work to get rid of zits, because it dries the zit out, however you have to be sure you dont get it anywhere else on your face because it is very bad for your skin. Im not sure whether it matters if you apply the rubbing alcohol when your face is wet though.

honestly..this has always worked for me..do try it:-
Use a hot compress on it (a washcloth, sponge, or anything that will allow you to apply moist heat to the area), and then use cool water to close the pores. Do the process over and over again, about five or six times. Use soap to wash the area, rinse it with warm water, blot off the excess water with a clean towel, and then treat it with an alcohol soaked cotton ball. It should be gone within five to six hours.

this will help drain the pimple out and not leave scar

I vote yes. Heat to open the pores and alcohol to kill the germs. Keeping your face very clean is important and don't forget to wash all of the soap off.
I had someone tell me to clean my face, rinse and then use a piece of lemon for astringent, then rinse. I don't know if there is any basis or just the excellent cleaning but not only did my face clear up but my skin really started looking good.

Putting toothpaste on zits works.
Rubbing alcohol does work, but I would dry my face before I put it on.

If you want a cheap 3-step item, I use this stuff called Acne Free...I didn't feel like going all out for ProActive even though I can afford, but it works very well.
You can get it at Target for $20.

Different things work for different people. Some things I do that work wonderfully, like, get rid of zits in a day or less, are tee tree oil and rosemary oil. You can find these at any health food store in your area. Both of them have antisceptic qualities that draw out infection and dry out your zits, so they heal faster. Just put some of it on a q-tip and apply directly to your skin. Good luck!

The bad thing about that, is that it can possibly burn the skin. Get a washcloth warm, but NOT HOT, and lay it on your face. This will open up the pores and then you can gently get rid of the little bugger. If you do use alcohol, make sure you use lotion aor something afterward

I know that washing your face with body soap will dry out your skin. If you put a little toothpaste on your pimple let it dry and go to sleep with it on, it helps the pimple clear up faster.
