Whenever I go to a family event some of the older people in my family comment on my appearence like they are looking at a car or something.
Like when my Aunt saw me she started telling my mom how I look like her cousin when she was younger because I have a "round face" and I'm "still pigeon toed". And I was standing right there! Why do old people do this? It happens to me all the time...

I honestly believe they say hurtful things because they're old and know that most people aren't going to put them in their place and tell them to shut the f*ck up.
I hadn't seen a friend of my Mom's for a couple years and the first thing she said to me is, "You've gained some weigt" which is an insult because I've always been overweight.
Another old lady came up to me once and said, "You have such a pretty face. It must be hard to have that body"

because there bitter about being old.
think about it. they could drop dead any minute and their do nothing wonder lives will be over with. Your life is just beginning.
They would trade places with you in a heartbeat if they could, but they dont have many heartbeats left to trade now do they?
There just trying to make themselves feel good and superior about themselves being old and how their lifes are ending.
Just pat thems on the head and bask in your youthfulness and how much you have ahead of you. maybe pitty them on how little is ahead for them.

family will do that just try to get through it could be worse they could say wow you are getting fatter every time we see you that would be worse.
