....yes and so could I. Everyone says money is the root of all evil...i totally disagree. religion is definately the root of all evil. everyone killing in the name of God and Allah and Oprah ...so on and soforth. Fod God's sake....let's just quit all the damn fighting so we can get back to our "normal" lives. I happen to believe also that churches should be nonprofit organizations. do you realize how many kids we could feed just from 1 church collection basket each week? its absoultely ridiculous. If people wanna preach the word of God...do so. but not to make a profit in His name. If they really wanted to "just spread the word" they would do it for free.

The Holocaust was very technical and I will not get into it because I will probably get bashed by Jewish Sympathizer and be called a Nazi. All I can say is anyone who doesn't believe in race is a blind fool and you must seek therapy. The KKK are extremely religious, whether you believe it or not. The KKK have gone political and except a few radicals here and there, are non violent. Religion has given people hope. Sure, it's really just mans way of justifying his existence, but it's also a form of control. It keeps people in line, which is why it's such a good scam.

1. The crusades were about protecting Judeo-Christian lands from the Muslim attacks.
2. The holocaust was Hilters idea of ETHNIC cleansing, nothing to do with the religion of the Jews, but the belief that they Jews as people were sub-human.
3. Those are CRAZY muslims. Most muslims are peaceful.
4. There are crazies in all religious sects.
My own beef: What about the atheists? Hitler: believed not in a religion but in a "Master Race" that lived in the center of the earth and that the Germans decended from. He wanted to cleans the world. The Soviets. You guys have to admit that the soviets were Atheists. They tore down churches, and stripped Russia, Poland, and other countries of all things religious. China, nuff said.

Religion makes people FEEL good, and that is why it is so universal, and so important.
Think about it--there are those who get just as much from following their favorite sports team, or from watching TV, or from knowing all about celebrities or other hobbies.
But religion is a one-size-fits-all passion, in that its marketers don't have to worry about appealing to the prospective believer's personal interests.
The psychic benefits of religion are enhanced by being surrounded only with similar believers, as this creates a 'connected' feeling almost as important as the primary flush of good feelings. In fact, it accents and reinforces the feelings, which is why there are bible study groups, church services, and so on, in addition to dogma and ritualistic activities such as wearing certain things, eating certain foods at specific times, etc.
Nonbelievers (heretics, infidels, atheists, etc.) can be conveniently murdered, ostracized or simply treated with disdain in a religious society. This makes the religionists maintain their good feelings, as their comfort requirements increase to the level where dissent cannot be tolerated, or the entire ruse falls apart.

Religion has bought many divisions in life. I have a personal relationship with Our Lord Jesus which I do not consider a religion. Religion puts unnecessary restrictions upon us. If you noticed Jesus did not like religion. He was born outside of religion. He did not walk among the people with a huge purple robe on . He came meekly. The ancient religionist which were the scribes and Pharisees mock Jesus because He did not follow their laws.. When Jesus preformed a miracle on the Sabbath , the scribes were furious saying that the laws say that you do not do work on the sabbath. Jesus answered and says Hippocrates, do you not go out to the barn to feed your cattle on the Sabbath? So you see Jesus is not about Religion but about a Relationship. His being against Religion is what ultimately got Him crucified.

Universities, Hospitals, the preservation of classical authors through the middle ages, architecture, music, history, community, numerous charities, the invention of the clock, Mendel's work in genetics, etc, etc.
I'm an agnostic, and an adherent of no religion, but I at least have the good sense to recognise the benefits that religion has given the world.

I am agnostic, but I have to admit that religion (primarily Christianity) has contributed a lot of good things to modern society. Some of the good things are: great institutions of learning, laws, morality, charitable programs, art, architecture, and traditions. That doesn't make any religion true though. They are all flawed and man-made.
