I was just recently thinking of the same thing. Of when a christian habitually sins and is besetted by a particular sin time and time again.
This is a real problem and as long as we are NOT sensitive to sin in our lives then it has a way of staying in us and infesting us.. cutting off our fellowship with the Lord and our freedom before Him. Sin does that..
Which is why the Lord has provided His very blood for us. That If we sin He is faithful and Righteous to forgive us our sin and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
I am in no way saying that we can just go on sinning and say that the Lord will keep forgiving me so i'll just keep sinning.
We have a sinful nature and from this nature we commit sins. The Lord came into us to live in us and be the means and way to overcome sin.
If we are not sensitive to what is sinful in our lives then it means that we are not those having regular fellowship with the Lord..
I do not simply mean the blatant evil things but things like pride.. self righteousness.. jealousy.. wanting to be first.. idle thoughts....
Only the Lord in us is able to overcome the evil one.
Brother John in His epistle to us said..
I have written to you young men because you are strong and the word of God abides in you and you have overcome the evil one.
So a key to living a life that is not under the enslaving evil one is to have the word of God abiding in us richly. The word strenghtens us to walk by the SPirit so that we do not fullfill the lust of the flesh.. that we are not slaves to sin ...
Bit by bit as we learn to stay with the Lord in fellowship.. through the word.. through prayer... through fellowship with brothers and sisters .. we will give the Lord a way to grow and overcome all the evil tendencies in us. Greater is He who is in me than he who is in the world..
I just really appreciate your heart sister.. and i just pray that the Lord can touch more brothers and sisters to be absolute for Him .. to live for Him and Love Him with their whole being:)
Be blessed
.. sandy

I dont think that you can live as you want after u get saved. I know the bible says you have to work out your own salvation (i think) and that sin leads to death.. so i guess that means that if u are not working it out, and you are still sinning you will not go to haven in the end. That depresses me alot because i probably wont even go. And if I remember right, I think the bible said that its better if a person has never been born if they accept christ then leave him. I really dont think im gonna go to heaven though. Im kind of giving up... im gonna always sni while im here.. and 99% of the people i am around are not christians. And I really dont like going to church, and when go i kind of feel guilty being there, cuz I know I dont live right. I swear, I still go out to clubs (i dont get drunk tho), and i have sex (with my bf/fiancee) but havent wanted to do it alot anymore. And when i "try" to live right i wonder if what I did was god enough to stil make it. im confused. thats why i havent been to church cuz all this heaven/hell stuff gets depressing to hear. Im supposed to have joy but I don;t cuz im too busy wondering if im gonna make it, and i worry about it so much that i dont want to hear anything else about church, god, heaven or hell. i guess its good to be reminded.

As the church, we will be held responsible for how we present ourselves. We are living epistles.
I believe that the Lord will reveal our sin(s) to us so we can repent & turn from it (them). Nevertheless, we will never be perfect; Jesus was the only One who walked on this earth without sin. As for continuous sin: I think Romans chapter 6 is one of the chapters that will help answer the question.

Sorry, but it is too late. God has willed a chastisement for the sins of the world. The punishment is inevitable because we cannot expect the conversion of the entire world. The chastisement can be mitigated by prayers and penance. it cannot be suppressed. This is only the beginning. The events described in the book of Revelation will begin shortly starting with WW 3.

I come from a Wesleyan believing church and I agree with you. God may not abandon you ,but you can walk away from Him. Too many people are just looking for fire insurance.
