Being that I am young people in my church have always told me that as I am considering my future I should also consider what God would like me to do with my future. Well....how the heck would I know? I mean I guess if I thought about it for a while I would justify my own decision by saying that God is pushing me to do so. In other words, how do you know if God is calling you to become a priest or a nun?

I see it as something that you feel like you need to do, it's a feeling in the pit of your stomach that just gnaws at you until you give in. You may not want to do it at all, but you have this feeling like you have to do it!

I have two friends that are studying to be priests right now. But I would not recommend becoming a nun in the current church.

You could become a consecrated virgin, but there are really not any good traditional convents any more. Becoming a nun is no longer about a lifelong love of Jesus and serving Him. It has become like a huge womens liberation society IMHO.

It's just one of those things. No matter what you do, that always seems to be the ONLY option available to you. My calling to Wicca was exactly like that. I fought it tooth and nail and came to it kicking and screaming. But as soon as I relaxed and just let it flow into me, I became not only comfortabel with it. I actually began to LOVE my Priesthood as a Witch. NOW, I wouldn't trade it for anything in the entire universe. Nothing at all. If that's what YOU feel in YOUR case, just go with the flow and let it take you where it wants you to go. Brightest Blessings on your journey through life.

Become biblically astute first by acknowleging the Holy Spirits help in the process of reading the bible. You will learn God's ways and doings and God will work with you in leading you !!! St Paul determined to go to a certain city but God changed his plan and when you are doing what God wants He will direct your paths !!! Proverbs 3:5,6 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

I look at it as being strongly pulled in that direction. You can't stop thinking about it. You would enjoy doing that for the rest of your life. Thinking about it makes you happy. That's how I know I've been called to do something. It's a feeling of warmth and comfort inside.

Depends on which "faith" you are talking about as far as a priest in concerned. As for a "nun," we all know that to be of the Catholic faith, but in OUR faith, we ALSO have priests and priestesses. Those who devote themselves to the Lord of Creation, but UNLIKE the Catholic faith, we live our lives just like everyone ELSE. We marry, have children etc.........

Go to a quiet place, pray about what God would like you to do, and then shut up for a while and just listen. God will talk to you if you allow her to!

Well I would think about it seriously first, then I would pray and ask him. Of course he would tell you his will. That's what he wants. He loves you so he will answer you, just have faith.
