Okay me, my sister, and my friends went out to see fireworks and we bought those glow necklaces that are different colors that they sell on the streets. Anyways we get home and my sister is whipping it around and my cat is playing with it, then she puts it out of site so the cat can't a hold of it. When she wasn't looking, he managed to grab the necklace and bit into it and the stuff inside started leaking into his mouth.
He started sprinting around everywhere, foaming at the mouth ( it was just spit bubbles i think because the bubbles were clear) but then my mom caught him and held him and attempted to wipe all the stuff off of the inside and outside of his mouth.
I really don't know if this is bad or not because he seems fine now, and my mom thinks that they wouldn't be selling toxic things to kids in the first place so the stuff inside of it should be safe.
Should i be concerned about my cat or do you think that was happening because he really didnt like the taste of it????

The luminescent stuff in those sticks is non-toxic, generally. Watch your cat carefully for a few hours, look for foaming, vomiting, listlessness and glazed over eyes.
I doubt anything bad will happen, though, but at least watch for a while -- if you see anything suspicious, call a vet immediately.

I'm pretty sure the stuff is non-toxic for people, cats I don't know. Cats tend to be a lot more sensitive to toxins than people. I would see if you can do a little bit more research on the stuff inside of the plastic glow necklace - and then call the vet or emergency vet with what exactly the cat ate - many of them don't charge for phone calls, and you should get a better idea if your kitty is going to be okay (although I think hes fine).

I think your mom is probably right -- the stuff inside is probably nontoxic because if a cat can bite into the necklace, a child certainly could.
Look at the necklaces and see if there is a manufacturer's name and phone number on them. There should be. Call that number and ask.
Sometimes these products were made overseas, though. You could also call the non-emergency line at your police department and ask if they have any information on what's inside the necklaces. I would expect they do because, inevitably, someone is going to get the stuff in their eyes or mouth and call the paramedics.
Keep a good eye on your kitty and take him to the vet if he starts seeming sick.

The sprinting around was probably because the stuff tasted rather nasty.....for the most part, it is non-toxic, not to say your cat won't throwup, it is not poisonous. Little kids do it all the time.
keep an eye on your cat to make sure all is good, if the cat starts acting sick, seek a vet quickly and bring the necklace.

Cats can foam at the mouth for a variety of reasons, one of which being if they lick something yucky (flea med, ointment) they will foam. It freaked me out when it happened to one of my cats. I hated it. I wiped her mouth as best as I could.
But honestly, I'm not sure what those little glow necklaces have in them. Those necklaces are meant to be worn, not eaten so I'm not sure if what's in there is toxic or not.
You should call the vet as soon as you can and tell them what happened. They might tell you to watch him for further problems or ask you to bring him in just to make sure.
Good luck!

I do think your cat is ok because of what your Mom said, it can't be toxic for kids. My cat does that when he catches a frog, I think it tastes bad or bubbly.

I am pretty sure its non-toxic, it just tastes gross. I had one break in my car once and it got on my arm, but nothing bad happened. If the cat has more symptoms later- then call a vet!

My dog once got some of that stuff in her mouth. It's neon and other chemicals. Your cat foamed at the mouth because of the taste.
he'll be fine just rinse her mouth out if you can. :)

Maybe you should call the vet when you get the chance and ask their opinion. I thought that there was a 24hour 800 number that you can call for pet emergency and also concerning poisoning.... i saw it somewhere....
For me, I hate the smell of the liquid that comes out of it.

Since they sell them to young children at the fair and parades, I would be willing to bet that it is nontoxic! But, call the poison control center and they can tell you for sure.
