Well unless you want to lose about $10,000 the second you drive off the lot do not buy the 2008 model or any new car for that matter. Go for a used one...2 years 50,000 miles is the standard you look for. Camry's are great vehicles you can drive them well over 100,000 miles if you take care of them proberly. Also, when I was looking for a car last year All the used Camry's I saw had about 65,000 miles and the former owners just wanted an upgrade. So that told me they were great vehicles. The problem with Toyota and Honda is they are not willing to make a deal. They put the asking price on the car and usually won't budge. So I ended up with a 2006 Ford Fusion with 18,000 miles for only about $13,000.....(great car by the way check it out before you buy anything) But really make sure you do your research, drive each of them many times, and only then make your decision. Happy car hunting!

GO BIG RED!!!
I would choose nither of the above. None of those cars provide anything to the American economy except for a few jobs--not that jobs are a bad thing. But all the profits from those cars go to foreign governments. Find something made by a domestic company, please, my fellow CornHusker.
I would put a Chevrolet Impala up against a Camry. Or a Buick LaCrosse. Or a Pontiac Grand Prix. Or a Pontiac G6. Or an 08 Malibu--completely redesigned--HOT!!!
All of these cars are high quality, tight tolerances and fit and finish...and they all get 30mpg or better.

Accord or Camry. Prius is ugly and underpowered, but if you are into saving gas and hugging trees, get a Prius.
-------------------
To Rodney, who thinks that Japanese cars "suck."
Would you take a bet with somebody, who will buy a brand new Accord and you buy a "comparable" American car of your choice. Then you drive them side by side from Los Angeles to New York and back and then again and again and see which car falls apart first.
The guy who loses pays for both cars, all expenses and another $100,000.
Will you take this bet, if offered? I think you should because you KNOW that Japanese cars are not good.

I would get an 07 Accord, as it is an excellent vehicle, and the deals on it are excellent right now, so for around $21K, I can get a loaded EX model with a sunroof, heated mirrors, etc.

I would get the Accord. I predict it will last long and wont give you a hard time. It would last up to 300k miles or more if you take good care of it. Plus, the new accords look nice. :)

Check out the new Ford Taurus. See how it compares to the safety ratings of these cars. You may be surprised at what you find.
