Can you insert edit? I can't seem to find a way to do it.

That's not quite what I need to do. I use some higher end video editors at school, during Summer I need to make a few movies to be able to get into the advanced course in the Fall. On those editors I can insert Shot A over Shot B, while keeping the audio in Shot B continuous.

What I'm trying to do is this, I have a scene of two people talking and a scene of a car going by on the road next to them. I want to insert the scene of the car in the middle of the scene of people talking and keep the dialogue in one piece. I can do this quite easily with the higher end editor (it's a some kind of Casablanca Video Editor) but is there a way of doing this on WMM?

I take it that you want to place one clip in the middle of another clip.

It can be done!

Have the main clip in the timeline. Move the pointer where you want the inserted clip to start. Click the CLIP menu at the top of the screen and choose SPLIT and the clip will become two clips. Now insert the new clip between the existing clips.

That's it.
