He was exactly as you would expect, full of life and energy.
He would make the drive down from Australia Zoo to Brisbane sound like an adventure.

No matter what Steve Irwin did in his life, the fact remains that, 2 young children are left to grow up with out their father.

I met him years ago, just after he married Terri just doing his 'rounds' around the zoo. It was never very busy back then and he always had time to say hello to people.

It was my first visit ever to Aussie zoo before it became REALLY famous. It was so small back then .... He's just so full on energy and a great aussie bloke.

I've since been to the Australian zoo about 4-5 times since then and it's really amazing what they have done to the place. I never saw him in any of those other visits, he was always out on a wildlife mission.

I would have liked to have seen him prosecuted for his atrocious behaviour in Antarctica. Those of us who have been there for scientific reasons know the rules regarding wildlife. Irwin broke the rules and should have been prosecuted for doing so but managed to use his influence to avoid it. It is no wonder that those with a concern for Australian wildlife cheered the stingray.

I wish I had seen him while I was down in Australia last summer. He was filming a show around where we were, I understand...so, I would've at least liked to have said, "Hey!"
