If you're talking about the KLM issued by Kuwait and NOT made by any oif the usual U.S. companies, then the answer is 'Yes." The gold inlay is made of gold and is not just gold plated. At the time of issue I was told (by someone I assume was a reputable source) that it was worth about $700 U.S..
As for the SWA Service Medal, what value do you place on your service?

To the soldier who they were issued to a symbol of their service, to a collector and if the medal is a factory issue and never been presented to a soldier about 10 bucks each
