Back when religions were created it was dangerous to eat pork because there was no refrigeration and bacteria had a field day in it. That is also the root of having halal or kosher food. Foods prepared a certain way in islam and jewish religions. Now it is said the reason is because pigs are filthy animals but really in todays world you have as much chance of any undercooked meat making you sick...

Muslims, I don't know but I've heard that some religion believes that there ancestors come back as insects/animals and by them eating meat or killing insects there actually killing there ancestors
My MOM told me this so i don't know how true it is, my cousin is Muslim though and she doesn't eat pork, why I don't know, she never went into detail why but I think it has something to associate with the God they praise
lol I'm really not helping
as far as eating pork, it's not the healthiest food but it's need in a healthy diet, protein is good for the body and pork is great for protein, it does carry a lot of unneeded fats but if it's ate in moderation then it shouldn't be a health concern

Muslims don't eat pork because they believe pigs are dirty animals. This goes back a long time just like some Jewish people do not eat pork and that is where the term "kosher" comes from... Kosher requires certain preparations for meat to be eaten. Things have to be done a certain way during slaughter and cutting. It is the same with Muslims who eat meat...
Both avoid pork because when the "rules" were established, it was believed that pigs were "dirty" animals because they wallowed in mud. They didn't have the ability to clean the animals the way we do today.
It didn't have anything to do with the "quality" of the meat in terms of "healthiness".
Hope that helps.

Pork meat is the most acidic and therefore the worst to eat if you have hormonal or digestive issues.
It's great if you want to gain weight and eat toxins in its meat which cannot be killed on any heating temperature once cooked.
All religions which forbid pork DO NOT forbid just to please God but to discourage humans to eat an animal which cause far more harm than benefit.
There are better ways of getting protein - eat chicken, lentils and other protein rich food.

Muslims and Jews don't eat pork because it is forbidden by God. In the Bible, a pig is seen as the bottom of the barrel basically because they have no standards, they will eat anything and everything including feces. It's like to eat pork, is to bow down to the same level as a pig.

Fascinating topic. In the Torah God determines which animals are considered clean and unclean. He said that we may eat the clean animals and then He classifies the animals. Jews don t eat pork because it s considered to be unclean. Christianity and Islam comes from Judeo heritage however one group eats pork and the other does not according to their belief system but the food classification comes from the Torah given to the Jews at Mount Sinai.
My wife is a registered nurse and according to her university medical program there are a lot of adverse affects from eating pork. It s bad if you re diabetic, high blood pressure, trying to maintain weight loss and trying to prevent parasites.

Some religions teach against eating pork. Pork is not harmful to the body unless it is undercooked. There are so many cuts of pork that calling it all fat is ridiculous. Bacon is fat, lean pork loin is not.

Early Christians/Jews did not eat pork either for a couple of reasons; caused disease from trichinosis and pigs are considered toxic because they don't sweat and the toxins say in their body which in turn stays in the meat you eat. I don't eat pork.

I grew up on a farm in the mid west and we ate pork all the time. WE even butchered our on meat. The reason they do not eat pork is proubly because they do not have pigs there.

Even health fanatics recommend not eating pork because pigs are filthy and will eat everything including their own feces. After I learned about this I cannot eat pork any longer.
