I've been called narrow minded a couple of times in my life. I found it to be an awesome compliment and reminds of what Jesus said in Matthew7: 13-14
13) Enter ye in at the strait gate:
for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to distruction, and and many there be which go in thereat.
14) Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto unto life, and few there be that find it.

They call me everything else in the book. If they persecuted Jesus and if you follow him, then they are going to persecute you.

I know that you are not narrow minded, referring to Mathews 7: 13 - 14

Mathews 7: 13 - 14 Doesn't that refer to people that do not know the knowledge of life and few will find that narrow gate? Most will find the wide gate and follow themselves to destruction.

"Open Minded" has come to mean the ability to see all religious, atheistic, and humanistic drivel as equal- the ability to ignore Truth, and accept pretty Newspeak slogans as true, though they defy logic.

I consider myself as open minded. Yet I have the ability to think and reason, and to research science, history, and religion, and have come to the conclusion that Jesus Christ is Lord of all. I have found THE TRUTH, and His name is Jesus Christ.

Some, who have declared themselves to be wise, may call that narrow minded. I say that those that are too lazy, ignorant or biased to actually research for themselves the case for Christ, look at the ample evidence in historical records and through fulfilled prophecy, see the ample evidence of Jesus and choose to ignore it, are the ones that are narrow minded.

Truth does exist, not all religions are equally valid, nor are all belief systems equally valid. Good and evil do exist, and those that can't see that need enlightenment.

Every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of the Father.

Matt 10:
vs 22 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.

The straight and narrow is the only way to go.I know following it won't win any popularity contests.Remember Matt 25:
vs 34Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

God Bless

Christians need to be narrow minded. As is said, we need to be on the straight and narrow. I had a discussion with my son today about this and his My space page. I told him what I saw was inconsistent... with what he said, and what the page said. Then he was like... times change, I said true, but not the Word of God.
So we need to be narrow minded, and the Bible is the guide!

I know just what you are talking about. Since the secular world has no solid foundation to stand on, they have no concept of what whole hearted devotion is. To them the statement "I believe the answer is XYZ, but ABC can also be right as well" makes sense, and doesn't make them sound like a moron. Wrong.

Truth is as narrow as it gets. 2+2 can equal millions of numbers, but it only equals 4 any way you look at it.

The way to the top is slim...the path cannot fit a group, but only the individuals whom are wise and has open minds and wishes all to Heaven...The narrow path is,"Love thy neighbor as thyself"...only a few individuals can do this.

Not anywhere as narrow minded as atheists. The verse you refer to is the path of life and how walking the straight and narrow is harder than that of the wide way to destruction. It does not reflect your mindset

Ironic thing is: As soon as I read the question, the very same thoughts came to me...

"What an awesome compliment!"
I guess if I'm narrow minded, than I'm doing something right.

"Kudos!" *THUMBS UP!*

God bless.

Christians are not narrow minded, individuals are. Both my aunt and I are Christians and I am basically open to everything as long as it doesnt involve me, i.e. i am not going to condemn a homosexual because really why should I care what he/she does with their life. Yet my aunt finds a gay person and says I MUST CONVERT THEM, as she does with Buddhists, and other beliefs. Some people need to mind their own business and if they are so busy judging others than chances are they are far from perfect as well.

Someone once said, "You have to be narrow-minded to walk the narrow way." That is a cute quote, but I believe that it is better to say we must be "single-minded." We must be strong in our faith and unwavering.

Christ was committed to going to the cross and suffering cruelly for us. There is nothing we can suffer this side of eternity that could come close in any way to comparing what He endured for us!

Go to http://fonsoc.net and read the poem "Count the Cost."
That is what I mean.
