Your bird needs to adjust to his new surroundings. At the moment he is probably very frightened. It may take a few day's for him to settle down, maybe a while longer.Try to spend as much time with him as you can, talking to him gently.Place your bird in a busy part of the house where he can see/hear whats going on. The more time you spend with him,the quicker he will gain your trust.Continue to supply fresh food/water. If you are concerned about his eating, hang a millet spray for him to nibble on. He will be fine...

Yes, it's normal. Try not to bother him. Let him get accustomed to his new home. Talk to him from a distance. Tomorrow start singing and whistle to him. But keep your distance for a couple days. However, keep your eye on him for problems. If he puffs up and stays that way...if he goes the the bottom of the cage and lays there....if his eyes turn glassy and he sways on his perch....these are problems. Chances are...if you are bothering him or staying to close that he wont go near his food or water. He's scared...it's a new environment. Cover him tonight with a towel or sheet and try to keep it quiet around him. Also....3 months is very young. You may have to feed him formula for a couple more weeks. Call a vet in the morning if he isn't eating. And...what are you feeding him? He may not be totally on solid food. Good luck. Talk to a vet. Keep your eye on him.

Congratulations on your new pet! Budgies are wonderful pets and you've made a great decision to purchase one as long as you care for it and love it.

It's completely normal! My budgie wouldn't touch his food for a while, just make sure you show him where it is, and the water too. Cover his cage on all sides except one so he will feel more safe and turn some music on low and leave him a lone for a couple of days to get used to his surroundings. Talk to him and be patient.

I agree, your bird might just be a little scared... its a new enviornment. My birds were like that when i got them too they were so young! The thing was that they didn't move they just sat there in this one spot. so keep an eye on your bird and see if there's anything you can do for his well being, also try to whistle, speak soft or you can make achirping sound to cheer up the poor baby...
Relax its just him getting adapted to his new enviornment : )

It will take a day or two. It has to adjust to his new surroundings, the smells, sounds, sights and so forth.
Be patient with him and make sure he has fresh food and water at all times.
Let him see you on a consistent basis and talk to him gently and you could put a nature CD on for him.
Don't worry things will be just fine.

Your bird is scared. It will take 3 days or a couple of weeks
for him to get used to you and his new home. Speak softly to him and when putting your hand in the cage move slowly when you change his water and food dishes. Place food and water on the bottom of his cage near him. When he is feeling secure he will explore his cage and find his other food and water dishes. Make sure you are giving him the same food he was raised on.
