Really doesn't hurt much when you first get it done, but if you have to hide it while it is healing up, then it will hurt alot from the shirt rubbing it and keeping it irritated
pinch your earlobe and your skin on top of your belly button at the same time......ear hurts worse - same thing when you are getting it pierced really not that bad

Getting your belly button pierced does hurt, but not as bad as you think. I was expecting it to be more painful. It also depends on your tolerance of pain. Some people have a higher tolerance than others. Some body piercing places have special licenses that allow them to numb the area before the piercing. The place I got my belly button done at didn't have a license to numb it, so I had to deal with more pain.

I have 14 piercings and the only one that hurt was my belly button. It was really painful for the first week, but then after the first week it wasn't so bad, just don't get it infected.

Mine was SO PAINFUL! And you're not allowed to abandon the piercing either. It's a bunch of skin to pierce, more than just the thin skin on your earlobe. And it was AGONY for a month (and I followed every instruction). And it hurt like hell for six months after that. Every piece of clothing that my belly buton ring rubbed up against was painful. In hindsight, I would never have bothered with such a thing.

It has a slight pinch. Best way to gage it is to grab the skin above your belly button with your nails and pinch as hard as you can. That is about how it would feel.
