There are no cooking wine so use a cheap wine if you don't want to spend too much on it. You can use white(fish, chicken) and red (duck, beef). You will use not so much so 1liter bottle it is enough the rest you can drink it while you cook

Yes you find them in a grocery store.
NEVER buy any thing that is called cooking wine. These are trash.
Just buy good wine the same that you would drink. You do not need to spend alot. In fact the Mondavi Woodbridge winery makes inexpensive wines for drinking that are also great for cooking.
It is not a mystry to cook with wine. Just find a few recipes and follow them and learn soon you will be adapting your own ideas.

Have Sherry on your shelf at all times, it is used in many recipes.
As far as reds and white wine, I buy inexpensive wine that you can get at your local grocery store. It works fine since it is more for seasoning meats.

Cooking with wine is a BEAUTIFUL thing!
First, never, ever use cooking wines that you get from the market.
Second, always use wines that you drink to cook with.
Wine reduces to a beautiful sugar when cooked.
