I have two miniature lop rabbits (a buck and a doe) and I decided to breed them. Both the buck and doe were healthy before the breeding took place. After the breeding, my buck started to act funny. He started to lay around more and breathe heavy. His coat got dull and rough. I thought at first that he was just tired. But after two months, he was still like this. My doe never had babies so he didn't even get her pregnant. I don't know how old either of them is because I bought them at an animal auction. So I guess my question is... Is my buck sick because of the breeding or could it be something else?

Yes, I know what sex they are. I have owned rabbits all my life and I know how to sex them. I know that the doe is of the right age but I'm not so sure on the male. I suppose he could be older. I KNOW he is not too young. There are no parasites on either one of them. The heat isn't too intense around here so I don't think that is the problem. Plus, I give them ice packs to make sure they get plenty of coolness.

Okay blueraven_20_2002, for your information, I have raised and bred rabbits all my life and I don't just do it "for the experience". My rabbits never go without a home because I always make sure that I have people interested before I breed them. I used to own 20 rabbits all at one time so it's not like I don't know what I am doing. I couldn't ask about their age or health because at this auction, the owner usually leaves and you don't get a chance to talk to them. I checked them over very thouroughly before I even considered buying them. I'm not an amature at this and I don't like the fact that you treat me like one.
