I can't seem to work with this dog on house training and she hears me but goes off in the other direction. She runs everywhere and I have to chase her down. I have 2 Yorkies and never had a problem with either but they are males and they respond to me better the my husband. Could it be because she's a girl? I have noticed with my dogs that the males take to me and the females to my husband and I 've told my husband not to mess with her much so she bonds to me and still she goes her own way. Help

I had to look this one up! A Fourche is a mixed breed from a Westie/Yorkie cross. The picture I saw reminds me of a Cairn Terrier! Anyway, keep a leash on her when she is out and tie it to your waist in order to get some control! Put her in a crate when you can't watch her, but don't over use the crate (it's a training tool--not a jail cell). Read everything you can about crate training. Go to www.siriuspup.com and look under the behavior section--good info on housebreaking there.

My dog was the same way. I adopted her at about 4 months and she bounced off the walls. Alot of walking helps with the energy, trust me. and about the training, some dogs are just stubborn, just keep at it.

Are you using crate?
You need to get into some obedience classes with her!
