The following are examples of semi-automatic military sniper rifles. The cartridge used in each weapon is in parenthesis:

* Accuracy International AWM rifle series – used by UK, Germany, Netherlands (.338 Lapua Magnum/.300 Winchester Magnum)
* McMillan TAC-50 – Canada (.50 BMG)
* PGM Ultima Ratio Hecate II – used by the French Army (.50 BMG)
* PGM Mini-Hecate .338 – used by the Singapore Armed Forces and the Slovenian Armed Forces (.338 Lapua Magnum)
* Remington Model 700 rifle:
o M24 – U.S. Army (7.62×51mm NATO)
o M40 – U.S. Marines (7.62×51mm NATO)
* Sako TRG rifle series – used by several European countries (.308 Winchester / .338 Lapua Magnum)

I believe the US military are using the barett models sniper rifles like the m82, this guns do pack a punch, 50 BMG caliber... while the marines are using the m24 or the m40a1..

Browning automatic rifle, or B.A.R. We have been using them for years. Good weapon.
