I don't currently have a dog, however I had a golden retriever up until he died just before Christmas of 2005, he was a Leader Dog for the Blind that my family raised and then we were able to keep due to him being rejected because of health issues. But before him I had a leader dog that my family raised for a year and he was also a golden retriever. However, my grandparents and a family friend have all had/have beautiful mixes that were/are all wonderful dogs too.

My family does have a female Newfoundland named Annabelle who, unfortunately, passed away several months ago. We do have a new dog, though, who, in a nutshell, showed up at our door recently. (We appropriately named her Makana, which means "gift" in Hawaiian- we were about to visit Hawaii at the time) We're not quite sure about here breed,- some sort of mix. I will send links shortly!

I have a long-haired brown & white piebald dachshund. He's SO cute and nobody can ever figure out what kind of dog he is because his face and markings look like a spaniel. No pic, sorry.

Basset Fauve De Bretagne. Her parents are SAR dogs and I got her to do scent work with. They are primarily used in packs for hare and rabbit. She is a sweetie pie and just 5 months old.

A beautiful and sweet greyhound-lab mix. We got her from the Sedona Animal Shelter. She is brindle, but she looks NOTHING like a pitbull, (most people associate 'brindle' and 'pitbull' together.....). Anyway, she loves to run, dig up our yard, and bask in the Sun's glory on her favorite green carpet, most commonly referred to as, "our lawn". Her favorite position is to lay on her back, with her tummy and paws in the air. She is SO cute when she does that! Also, when she whines, she sounds like a cow "moo-ing"; it is really hilarious! She is adorable, spunky, and one brightly-lit light of my life. And I wouldn't trade her for the world!

I wish I had a dog but I cannot at the moment. If I did have a dog I would adopt from Petfinder and she/he would be a golden retriever. (Doesn't need to be a purebred).
