I am a Christian...i'm saving my virginity, I do the best i can to be like Christ in all areas of my life...but, I was born gay (yes, you are born gay)...how can I fit both into my life??? I am very much a believer in the born-again faith (I was baptised by my own choosing at age 14) and very involved in the church. Are their born-again or non-denominational churches that are both conservative in their values, but not ignorant and understanding of being born gay?

Also-Despite truly believing in most of the born-again doctrine, I have always been a believer that Christianity has nothing to do with the denomination, but rather the personal relationship with God...how then can someone say to me that I am not a Christian, if they dont know my personal relationship with my savior???

There are some churches who are understanding of being born gay...they are individual to the area they are located in...meaning not all of a particular church prescribes to the same belief...you just have to look for one which fits your needs...while i am atheist i think it is wonderful for you that you have found something that fills you and what i think is more important is that you are living your life to be christ like...which not all christians do...i wish you luck in your search for an appropriate place to worship and thank you for showing what real christianity is about...

Since I come from a Catholic background, I can give you their view.

They feel, that right now it is the belief that people are born being gay, that it is not a choice. They believe that this is a special cross given to some people. In order for them to do G-d's will, they must abstein from sex with anyone from the same sex. They are to carry this burden and not encourage it.

There are supposedly Christian Churches out there that claim they are gay friendly and support people being gay. But honestly you cannot be gay and Christian at the same time.

If you want New Testament verses look up:

Hebrews 13:3-5
Romans 1:26-27
1 Cor 6:9

In these verse is what happens to those who practice homosexuality. It is not just the Old Testament that condemns this practice.

There is a Christian movement, called Exodus, that is about helping people find Christ and escape homosexuality. I used to believe that it was not possible, that one was born gay. And then I met some people who had left homosexuality - and were completely happy. They had more peace and joy in their lives then they ever had before and have no regrets leaving homosexuality. They are not hidding or repressing a part of themselves. I would ask them for help, especially in finding a church as you sort things out.

God's word says "man cannot serve two masters." ANYTHING, whether it be the sin you are calling a lifestyle or the choice you made to live that lifestyle, that is of equal or greater priotity than your relationship with God is a "master."
I will not quote chapter and verse on this because the Bible is VERY clear that God DOES NOT agree with homosexuality. God also cannot agree with or tolerate sin ("sin puts enmity between God and man"). Thus, the only conclusion that can be drawn is that you are decieving yourself and trying to justify your sin instead of repenting.
God made you perfect, therefore, you do not have a gene in your body that caused you to be a homosexual any more than I have a gene in my body that makes me like peanut butter. It is that simple. Homosexuality is a sin and God did not make you that way because He is Holy and cannot tolerate sin. I want to be clear on that. God did give all of us free wills, however, and like every action that you or I take in this life, a decision had to be made first to carry out that action. Love is a decision, not a feeling. Love is not genetic.
Your problem is reconciling your life decisions with God's word which is impossible. But you are not in a no win situation. Decide to turn away from that which is causing you concern - in other words repent. God will give you a new joy and release you from the confusion you have on this issue. Do not wait another minute. Do not look for likeminded individuals on this site to pacify you. Look to God and He will answer every question and solve every problem.

Reality check. NO can do. You can't hang on to your lustful sin and say I can go and worship God. You need to repent (feel sorry for your sin and put it BEHIND you). Then you can go to God and glorify Him. I wish you to choose life brother. I really do. When it comes to man, miracles don't happen overnight; but "With God all things are possible". Believe that you can be saved and you will be saved. Don't try and find a religion that says you be gay and its O.K. with God because they are lying to you. They are doing the will of the devil. You will not get any fulfillment in Christ at that church. The only fulfillment you will have is keeping your ungodly sexual desire satisfied. We all fall short of God and I will not judge you, just trying to help you out. I fell short in many ways; but repented what I've done and here I am leaving behind what I repented. I believe I'm forgiven as long as I don't go out and repeat what I repented. Choose life!

I am glad you are a Christian.
I am an adulterer and a born again Christian. I didn't save my virginity.
How can I fit both Jesus and adultery into my life? I hope, like you, to find a church that is understanding of my adulterous lifestyle. By the way, I was born with an attraction to women. I can't help myself.

Sounds ridiculous doesn't it?

unfortunately, friend a lot of christians aren't very understanding of your situation. being a christian myself, i've come to realize that homosexuality is a sin like any other, therefore, i should single you out for committing this sin. christians often forget that the bible doesn't say gays will burn, that punishment is guaranteed for liars. I would suggest that you, first receive the in-filling of the holy spirit, let him begin the work of santification in you. furthermore, end any relationship with your same sex partner. finally, look to the cross and most importantly remember there is no condemnation. however, you must also remember, do not blantantly sin. ask jesus to not let you find any pleasure in homosexuality; if it doesn;t feel good, you won;t do it.

It is ok to be a homosexual but it is not ok to practice it or condone the practice. Just as it is ok to be a glutton or any other type of sinner as long as you don't practice that sin. We all have these same problems but, some are far more pronounced and being a homosexual is a heavy cross to bear. The Catholic Church is a good Church if you do not believe people should practice homosexuality.

If you believe what your Bible says, then you can't be both. I'm Gay and I am Pagan and my religion treats me like I was meant to be treated.

There are MCC churches and Unitarian Universalists who will accept you for who you are. MCC = Metropolitan Community Church.

I'll bet if you came out in your church you could kiss that goodbye.None of these church members will try to see past your books cover. Anymore than they would try to understand that I am a witch and I am nothing like the witches in your Bible.

Good Luck.

Umm...Ok!!!! Let see. Well I do believe that were born into sin because Adam & Eve sinned. You can't serve two masters. In the bible God said he loves the sinner but dislikes the sin they do. The sin (homosexuality) causes those to commit fornication or illicit sexual acts that are not honorable to God. God is the only one that can judge. All I have to say is that one day were all going to face JUDGEMENT!!!!! God is going to judge us according to how we lived upon this earth and our hearts. Jesus died on the cross for "our sins" so that we can have everlasting life with him. The choice is up to you. You can give up your past and continue to glorify God or you can be confused, misled, and miss what God truely has in store for you,

Born again and gay!

I'm sorry but wasn't going through school torture enough?
I mean really.

Good luck, but there are other faith systems that will not require such sacrifice on your part.

Gods challenge to Lot, find righteous men in Sodom and Gomorrah.

His challenge to you, find Christians that are open minded and loving, and have empathy for their fellow man.

Whatever...
