Help! This is my cats first experience with fleas (summer heat?), and I'm trying to figure out which product is more effective.

What's your experience and opinion regarding these products?

Advantage worked on ridding my cat of fleas. Just be careful where you put it so the cat can't lick it off.

Frontlne for CATS - Advantage for CATS-- either one is good - just make sure it says "for Cats" -- the stuff that is used on dogs can kill the cats or make them seriously sick - cats livers cannot process the types of poisons used in the dog products.

Some people take a small portion of the "For Dogs" products and THINK they can use it on their cats-- no, don't do that -- it will seriously hurt and / or kill the cats

Never use off-the-counter flea products (like the stuff in the supermarkets, pharmacies or even some pet stores) becuz that stuff has killed cats AND dogs in the past.

I have always used Frontline for Cats on my kittis and it works just fine. I've had to put an Elizabethan collar on one of my cats for a while, right after I apply the Frontline on her, becuz she insists on licking that wet spot between her shoulder blades. My other cat could care less.

Your pet store will also have Diatomecious earth for you if you need to vacuum fleas out of the rug -- they can tell you how to apply it - it's safe, just don;t use too much in one place on the rug or you will be vacuuming forever....!

I have six cats (I don't own them, they own me!) 1 outdoor/indoor cat, and 5 totally indoor cats (along with two dogs as well) and I ALWAYS use Advantage! First, it was strongly recommended by my vet. Second, it has always worked for me-just follow the directions as given by your vet and no worries. Third, according to my vet,if you use Advantage exactly as told and described by both the vet and the Advantage company and you still get fleas on your cat and in your home then the Advantage company will pay to have your pet and home de-bugged, guaranteed (hat is what my vet has told me, anyways) I have never had a problem since I started using Advantage, so I recommend using it to anyone that asks. Sorry for the long dissertation.

I always use Advantage and I never have problems with Fleas. I have 5 cats also, 3 indoor and two indoor/on tour. I have never used Frontline, I tried Advantage first and it worked like a charm, so I didn't have to go further. :)

Frontline Plus for Cats. I have 5 and it works the best for me. I have a dog and use the Frontline for dogs. Never have anymore problems.

Make sure you fog your house too. I used Raid for fleas fogger and that worked awesome... Wash any clothes/towels/bedding etc... they will stay in fabrics.

Please..... Read the instructions carefully on whatever you purchase. You don't want anyone sick. You or your animals.

I used Advantage on my cat and it got rid of the fleas just great. If my cat had fleas right now thats what I would use on her.

Have been using and prescribing both since they first came on the market. Both excellent but in my experience the Advantage kills fleas faster. Its what we recommend for cats.

They cost about the same. Advantage kills fleas faster but both are very effective.
