I am a career coach and I blog about interviewing. I have been writing the blog for 8 months and I am trying really hard to market the site and increase the pageviews. Any suggestions you have that are tried and true would be great!

Many make the mistake of believing that once they create a blog, people will immediately flock to it. There are millions out there so why would they visit your blog?
Here are some ways you can promote your blog
1. Create great content – everything starts with great content. Think 'Linkbait" -- or writing about stuff that would be so great that people will want to link to you. It can be a news hook where you write about something that is contrary to what everyone else is saying; resource hook where you have the only information available or humor hook.
2. Update the content regularly – make your visitors come back again and again to your blog by providing daily updates (even multiple posts per day!)

Press releases allow you to (a) attract media attention; (b) get more back links to your website without sending each website an email request; and (c) get more visibility especially if your press release gets in Google News or Yahoo News.

You get exposure for your business; establishes you as an authority in your field, and allows you to get backlinks for your website. The more links you have, the greater your chances for increasing your search engine rankings.

Do what you're doing here by putting your link out there. If you have a myspace, facebook, etc. account, put your link there. Use specific key words that will bring people to your page when they are using a search engine for instance. Word of mouth, blah, blah, blah. Be interesting and worth reading. This is all I can come up with at a moment's notice and at 1 in the morning...

great question. theres alot of things you can do to get more hits on you page for example make sure your site can be searched through yahoo and google if a keyword is punched in, be sure to be very general when picking keywords. If your selling something try putting on online classified ads like craiglists and sites of that nature but what you could do is not have a price or any means of contact other then a link to your website try posting it in a news paper or sending out flyers

One of the best ways to get lots of exposure without high costs is by writing short articles about your expertise and submitting them to articles submission sites....
Your articles can then be picked up and reproduced in various ezines. Somtimes if it is real informative and well done you get picked up by a news service.....
You can do a search on articles submission company's, you will find many....
