There are different types of Presbyterian rainging from TULIP Calvinist to liberal Protestant. Presbyterianism is a type of church government which does not have a Pope and bishops like Catholics or bishops like Orthodox,Anglicans, many Lutherans, many Methodists, some Pentecostals and some Reformed (Hungarian). They have presbyter(elder), ordained and lay ,rule and have a synod -structure with groups like Houses of Representatives. They differ from Congregational church structure groups like Baptist who have the congregation as not just the basic but functionally the highest (although they can come together in conventions like Southern Baptist.
Presbyterians usually are less liturgical than Catholics and they got rid of more Catholic things(like statues and Mass vestment chasuables) than Lutherans did. Presbyterianism does not invoke saints like Catholicism does and does not believe in the Eucharistic Real Presence that Catholics,Orthodox and Lutherans believe in. Presbyterianism is the state Church of Scotland. Presbyterianism is the largest Protestant Church in Holland,Switzerland and France.
