"Coast" is for decellerating without braking. If you step on the brakes you will disengage the cruise control, but not turn it off. You can also reduce your 'set' speed , in one mph increments, by 'tapping' the "coast button.
For instance, if you were 'set' at 55 MPH & you wanted to reduce your speed to 50 MPH ...you would 'tap' the "coast" button 5 times.
For more complete instructions for your cruise control, please read pages 121-124 (121 has diagram) of the (free) down-loadable owners manual that I will provide in the "source" space below. The owners manual is complete but it is for a '96 Taurus...my source doesn't go back to '95, but all the controls are the same for both '95 & '96. If you like you can download & save the whole manual to your computer in case there are other questions regarding your Taurus features.

If you are cruising and want to slow down a little to keep with traffic, you can hold the coast button down and it will coast. Releasing the button will allow the cruise to bring it back up to the speed that you were traveling. The resume button is when you apply the brake for some reason and then want to resume the preset speed. The off button is to shut off the cruise control system.

When you hit the brakes for some reason with the speed control on, to put it back to the same setting you press resume.
When you are traveling at a steady speed with the speed control on and you press coast and hold it, the car will start slowing down until you release the button, then it will stay at thay speed.

Off is to disengage cruise. Resume, if you are doing 50, and you have to reduce speed, to go back to settings use resume. Coast==it will maintain your set speed until you come to a full stop, or use off to recover manual driving.

"Coast" kicks you out of cruise control when you hold the button down, but kicks you back in when you let go of the button.
With "Resume" you have to hold the button down to resume your speed after you have jit the brake or shut down cruise.

To me, worship is putting something or someone first in your life. That is the reason people can worship their job, their money, their family, their "belly", etc. And that is reason people can give worship to those other than Jehovah. But when Jehovah is first is your life, it is to him that you pray, that you sing about, that you speak about, that you read about, that you live for, that you long for, that you look forward to listening to and about, that you seek the approval of, that you study about, that you teach about, that you reach out to. He is your other half in a spiritual relationship. And spirituality cannot be complete without that other half. The definition of worship is multi-faceted, as are the expressions of worship. We speak of "worshiping in many ways". And that is correct. I don't mean all forms of worship are acceptable. But that our worship takes on different facets or expressions. We can't sing and study at the same time. But both are worship. We can't study and pray at the same time. But both are worship. There is more, but I will stop here.

If the cruise control is on and you tap the brakes to slow down, the car will not return to the set speed. Depress the resume button and the auto will resume the set speed.
