Bear Grylls is amazing. Yeah he has a camera crew obviously and I am SURE that survivorman Les does too, even if he says he doesnt. I watched Survivorman once, and he was like "uh...im not gonna build a shelter cuz I dont think itll get very cold." and the next shot was him freezing his butt off in the middle of the night. Then he built a raft, and it sunk within probobly 3 seconds. He is horrible.

Bear on the other hand, is awesome. Yeah, his camera crew is there and probobly has a tent for themselves etc, but how are they supposed to help him if he should slip while climbing up 100 feet of rock or if an alligator snatches him up while swimming through an alligator infested river? Exactly. They couldn't do anything but maybe retrieve the body. And anyone who can drink their own Urine, as well as the juice from the poop of an Elephant---needless to say has got guts and knows what he has to do to survive. He shows us the worst possible scenario and what you may have to do to survive it. To do this, he'll jump through ice into the water, or jump down a crevasse in the French Alps.

Bear Grylls has tought me an abundance of priceless information that could very well help save my life someday.
He inspires me. The fact that he could fall parachuting and break his back in 3 places, and still come back to climb Mout Everest and do half of the things he does, is awe-inspiring ---Man Vs. Wild is awesome, and so is Bear Grylls.

Not a fan. There are learning points to the show. But how many people parachute into a remote area? Usually they are a half mile from camp, or the trail...

And when he risks his life such as the African show and there was a rope hanging that he had to climb thirty feet up, his comment was "Well, only one way to test this." Frankly that is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. You are in a survival situation and you risk breaking your back by climbing an unknown rope hanging from a broken transpo cart?

Late Edit : Interesting how all the chicks think he is just so great... My vote goes to Survivorman! The situations are much more realistic, the advice is much more realistic to what the normal person faces in a survival situation. Not, I just parachuted in and I will walk for five days to get out. That is ridiculous. The guy moves like a special forces team not like someone stranded in the woods. Immediately moving out to find some hill top, is using up precious water in the body that you may or may not find later. I was always taught drinking your urine without filtering is worse than not drinking, but it probably makes for good TV. Interesting all the female response, compare to Survivorman, he isn't as handsome.
