Okay, I understand you guys think that a man who lived 2,000 years ago was actually God. I'm not mocking you- that's no more farfetched than most other religions.

From my understanding you guys believe this man was God, and that some people believed him, and followed him and kept his messages alive so that you have the pleasure of knowing about him to this day. You believe God led those people to pass on the message. And you also believe that that was the only time God ever roamed Earth as a man.

But why do you believe this belief is more credible than that of the ancient Egyptians, who believed their pharoes were God? This was a very common believe. People liked to believe God himself(or herself depending on the culture) was leading them. This is simply a very common belief.

So out of all the men that were thought to be God, why do you believe yours really was? You don't believe those others were God, do you? They all are reported as doing miracles and all that.

I am honestly curious. It really appears that the reason people choose this man God is culture- it's a very popular belief. But we all know popular belief doesn't make something more real.

Because of a preponderance of evidence, the resurrection. What have you read or studied?

Good question. My answer would have to be that all those other supposed gods, especially the Pharaohs who were most definitely human, died and stayed dead. Jesus died, was resurrected fully restored 3 days after being beaten to a pulp, ascended into heaven and can still be experienced through a very personal relationship 2000 years after his death. He is living in and through His people today, including myself. He guides my steps and when I follow, there are blessings beyond my imagination, when I don't follow, I get into trouble. It is way too right on to be coincindence. It works every time.

I don't think it is possible to explain to you how real He is in my life. You need to experience it for yourself, then it will make sense.

All those other gods cannot be experienced today because they are dead or they were made up. Do you know anyone that says they have a personal relationship with Zeus today? I've never heard of it.

If you wanted a more studied look at the evidence about Christ, check out a book called The Case For Christ by Lee Strobel. He was an athiest with an Ivy League education who set out to see what was out there. It's a fascinating read.

Jesus Christ was all man and all God. That is the mystery of the ages.

Like you said, many have claimed thru history that they were God, but this man was different. His coming on the scene had been prophesied about 1000 years earlier. Can any one else claim that? He was born in the manner and place that is was said he would be.

It was fortold what this man would do, how he would live, how he would die and that he would rise from the dead. Can anyone else in history claim that.

We have these "god" pharoes bodies.
Jesus Christ's body will never be found, untill he returns.

Prophecy is the key to any religion worth its salt. Are those prophesys correct?
What do other world religions say is going to be the end of all things?
What do they say will be the state of mankind?
Do they say that things will get better or worse as time goes on?

These are the things that you should be checking into if you are curious about religion at all.

Just to let you know, the bible has prophesied what things will be like in the last days. Here is just one of them, see if you think that this fits with today (all you have to do is watch the news), (my thoughts will be in parentheses)

2nd Timothy 3:1-8

"This also know that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, (does that sound like the Hip Hop crowd as well as others?)

Without natural affection (could this be gays?), truce breakers, false accusers (anyone sues anyone for anything today), incontinent, fierce, despiser's of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasuers more than lovers of God:

Having form of godliness but denying the power thereof: (this speaks of churches that are dead in the spirit, they do not believe that God still heals the sick and gives his Spirit to people today)

from such turn away. For this sort are they which creep into houses (soap operas) , and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with different lusts (sounds like soap operas to me),

Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. Now as Jannes and Jambres ( these are the pharaohs magicians that copies Moses miracles till the pharaohs son was killed) withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.

This was written by Paul to a young preacher named Timothy.
If you dont think that this depicts the state of many today, than I am sorry, you are blind to what is going on in todays society.

If you have any more questions on biblical prophesy, I would be more than happy do answer the best I can thru the bible.

Good luck and God bless.

To use the comparison of a Pharaoh is not relevant. They ruled the Egyptians and whatever they said went.....do you really think the slaves and peasants believed Pharaohs were Gods? Plus I don't know if their true Gods were Pharaohs, Aton & Osiris I don't think so so.....

" People liked to believe God himself(or herself depending on the culture) was leading them. This is simply a very common belief. " >>>>>> this is a very ignorant statement that has no credible evidence to support it, other than you said it.

I think the main thing with Jesus was people saw Him get crucified and then 3 days later He is up walking around.........real people saw this.

" And you also believe that that was the only time God ever roamed Earth as a man. " >>>>> Wrong

If you had even taken the time to read the FIRST BOOK of the bible you would know that God was here on earth when He was talking at Adam and Eve..........thats Christianity 101

Jesus Christ rose from the dead. There were lots of witnesses. He lived on earth after the resurrection for forty days before ascending into heaven (Acts 1). Also, God answers my prayers very often, and sometimes miraculously. That's good evidence. I have also changed a lot since I accepted Christ as Lord and Savior. It's not just my behavior, but my heart also has changed. I don't believe that could've all been just me changing myself. The difference is too drastic. Not only that, I see the same thing in many other Christians that I know. That's why I believe the Bible is true.

There are many reasons, but I'll give you one.

How do you explain the actions of the early Christians who lived with him and remained here after he left? They knew they would die horrible deaths for saying he was God, yet they started the Christian church anyway (interesting that such a small grass-roots organization is still so prevalent today, but that's another argument for the fact that there's something real here, else it would have died out long ago).

Most of these people saw him after his resurrection, told everyone they knew about what they had seen, and knew they would be killed for their words and actions. If they weren't 100% certain he was God in the flesh, was crucified, then resurrected, then they would have not been willing to die for their beliefs. People don't do that just to "save face". They do it because of convictions they believe to their core - just like Christians do today.

You need to get a reference Bible with Greek and Hebrew

This is quite long, I apologize
Please read it all, my fingers wouldn't stop, lol

I believe because Jesus is life, his life now lives on the inside of me through his death, burial, Resurrection , giving the Holy Ghost to indwell in us, as himself that is the promise that he would not leave us alone without him but would send a comforter to us
No others can give life to you, you can feel him moving on the inside of you, speaking to you and telling you things to come
He speaks the word, because he is the word, and sometimes he will say why did you do that, or this is the way walk in it
It's complicated and you need his spirit to teach you lead you and guide you into all truths
It is not a book, this word is life, it has life in itself
Jesus said if you drink of this water you will never thirst again
you can feel his presence all around you, I have seen the Glory Clouds in Church hovering over the people, like the Mt of Transfiguration
I have had gold dust appear all over me, I have laughed until I cried with the Joy that God gives, now would you think that someone would have uncontrollable laughter like that when my precious Mother went to be with Jesus, I felt no sorrow, just joy and everyone I talked to for days, got a big dose of it, it was like rain
I spoke at her going away service at the Funeral Home
I felt like I was on Clouds, and everyone was blessed
God is so good all the time, especially when you need him the most, so you see it is not words and things you do, it is something way down deep on the inside of you that gets you through the tough times in your life
Peace to you
May you find the peace I am speaking of

Hi, I serve a Living God, that is available to all believers 24/7. Miracles are a by product, not the reason that I believe. Having a personal relationship with the Living God is an awesome experience. I hope you find what you are looking for.

One reason is because of the miracles that follow those that believe, and have continuously been noted for 2000 years. No, miracles are not happening in the lives of EVERY believer, but they do happen often enough to give pause to anyone who is a skeptic yet open-minded enough to consider that there is a spiritual realm with powers and beings we only know fleetingly. This is what we call OBJECTIVE evidence. For modern evidence of such miracles look up Padre Pio who died in 1968, also Lourdes in France where the miracles claimed are evaluated by teams of doctors and scientists who may or may not be believers themselves.
Another reason is the SUBJECTIVE evidence in the lives of EVERY person who professes faith and perseveres through the tirals and tribulations of life. This is something that cannot always be measured, examined and quantified; but it also cannot be denied by the person experiencing it.. God tells us He will make Himself known to those who believe and seek. He never says He will reveal Himself to those who merely seek in order to believe.

i had no intention of changing or becoming a true christian,
when my wife and i decided to get married, we said if we were going to raise a family we were going to do the "right thing" and raise our kids in church.
so we started attending what`s now our home church.
i didn`t need any spiritual crutch or any of that stuff.
i wasn`t some weak minded simpleton who believes everything he hears.
but when someone taught me about Jesus and i started praying in his name, things in my life started to change
that i never even expected.
the Lord delivered me from 20 years of drugs and alcohol
that i didn`t even ask for! AND he`s made me a faithful husband which i never cared about before!
i`ve seen people healed miraculously in an instant, with no
scientific explaination! i`ve heard messages spoken in languages that the speaker had never known! messages confirmed by people who could translate them!
i`ve had prayer requests answered that i know no-one had heard me pray! ALL IN THE NAME OF JESUS!
see, it`s not just some man who was born 2000 years ago,
God has always been and always will be!
it`s that he chose that time, that place, that body, and that name by which to offer us ALL salvation from what we ALL deserve! you can choose not to believe in him and his ways and take your chances, or you can choose to believe in him
and be sure you will be saved!
the choice is yours!

Act 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Rom 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Rom 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Rom 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

You need to pray this right now, after reading and receiving all this testimony:

Dear Lord, I know that I'm a miserable sinner and I am worthy of hell, but I want to accept the payment for my sins that Jesus Christ has already paid for me on the cross. Please forgive me of my sins through Jesus Blood which was shed for me on the cross. Please come into my heart and fill my life. Teach me to love you, Lord, and show me your paths of the way you would have me live my life by getting to know you through reading your word, the Bible. Help me, Lord, to find a church that follows you. In Jesus Precious Name, Amen.

Now the first thing that is going to happen is that Satan is going to come tell you that all of this is a BIG LIE. So quickly, call or talk to a CHRISTIAN FRIEND OR GODLY PASTOR ABOUT WHAT YOU'VE JUST DONE. TELL THEM YOU NEED HELP TO FOLLOW JESUS.
