I have been reading all your answers. There's nothing wrong with your dog, except what everyone is saying. She might have a urinary tract infection. I suggest you, yourself get a clean bowl from your kitchen, one that you will never use again. Take your yorkie outside and follow her until she urinates and catch the urine in the bowl, by placing the bowl under her area while she urinates. wrap the bowl with foil, plastic wrap and drive to your vet. They will run the urine. If she does have an infection the vet will give you some antibiotics to give her. Then she'll be o.k. If she continues to urinate in the living room, then she needs more trips outside to do her business and you might have to shampoo your rug to get the smell out. While your at your vets ask the vet if they carry any spray to stop her from urinating in the house. You spray this stuff in a area where she's not suppose to urinate.

Urine or bowel movements?

Dogs will always use the same spot to go to the bathroom if you don't do a good job taking the scent out of the carpeting. I would clean my carpet with a little vinegar to take the smell out and to discourage my pups from continuing to go in the same area.

If your dog is urinating inappropriately, I would recommend bringing a urine sample (wide, shallow container) to your vet for a U/A (urine analysis). She may have a little UTI (urinary tract infection) going on. You only need about 1 tablespoon of urine to run an analysis. The analysis usually costs around $35 to run and you will get results in 24 hours. Rule out medical issues first!!

Depending on the accident type you mean... urinating could be stress, poor diet, or urinary tract issues. The other type of accident could mean that there is a digestive tract problem. Also, if there have been any environmental changes, changes in the surroundings or family or household, it could be causing a nervous condition. You can check the poo to see if you see any sort of infestation and if not, then it is probably a diet issue or a nervous problem. Smaller dogs are more prone to digestive issues.

If she was 100% housebroken to start with, then the most likely cause is a possible urinary tract infection. She has an urgency to go more frequently. Have any health reasons ruled out by a vet first, and if all is normal then discuss behavior reasons with the vet.

We have a 5 year old yorkie in the house. She is house broken and started having accidents in the house. The vet said he thought maybe since we had 2 other dogs in the house (A weiner dog, and my boston terrier) she may have been getting jealous and he thought maybe she was wanting to mark her territories.

It could be a bladder infection, and if she isn't spayed, she could be in heat (some dogs will have accidents when they are in heat).Or,it could be reaction to a change of some sort.Have you gotten anything new? Furniture, carpet,a new pet,a new friend? Dogs will sometimes react to change by having accidents. I would have her checked out by a vet,and if all is well, just start housebreaking all over again,as if she were a puppy. Good luck!

Likely she has a urinary infection.. When dogs suddenly start doing something it's a sign of a problem. You should take her to the vet and let him know what she is doing.

I would take her to the vet, she could have a bladder infection or something of the like.
She could have also developed a fear of something that you may not be noticing, or something that would not occur to you.
If she is only having accidents when you are not home, I would suggest crate training her.

she might have a bladder infection. Or paper train her. My little doxen used to do that but now if she needs to, she runs in our pink crate I found on ebay. She does it and sometimes we call her pink full of mess because her name is pinky. I'll find a picture of what she looks like. i'll email it to you.
