i bought a filet of salmon and it still has the skin on one side, no scales, is it edible. I saw them cook salmon on the Food Network with the skin on, but they never ate it or said anything about the skin.

You can eat the skin if you want to. The skin is actually left on salmon fillets to help to hold the fillet together while it cooks. You can remove it on your own portion after you have cooked it.

I don't like to eat it because it just tastes very squirmy and makes me gag. You should always cook the salmon with the skin on because it helps the salmon stay intact, but I just peel the skin off of the salmon when it is done, it comes off very easily too.

It really is a matter of personal taste, just like some people savour the skin on chicken or crackling on roast pork...
Just try it! :) You might find you like it. In some places it is considered a delicassy and people pay good money just for the salmon skins! It is full of the Omega3 oils and very good for your health.
Either way, hope you enjoy your salmon :)

Some people eat the skin, some don't. It's just personal preference, it won't hurt you.

It's edible-it's best if cooked crispy.
