IMO, Kyle Petty has already proven he is a better announcer than he was a driver (or singer..ha).
Anyone is better than Larry McReynolds.
TNT should sign Petty to a long-term deal before another network grabs him.
I still miss BP announcing the race though..he was great.

Yes I miss B .P. he was great,Larry Mac needs to be quiet ,Kyle does make a commentator. He is the best thing going on at TNT. But TNT' s race coverage is terrible at best .I wish that Fox had it all year I miss D.W. !

I love Larry Mac, well at least for the most part I do. I think he is a good announcer. I cannot stand Wally D. and Wally's world. I hate it. I think that Kyle Petty was a good racecar driver but he will never be anything like his dad. I think that Adam would have been a great race car driver and may he rest in peace, but God had another plan for him, I guess. I truly believe he would have been a great racecar driver. I like Kyle as an announcer and he isnt that bad of a racer as their are others that are alot worse like Robby Gordon and Juan Pablo Montoya. Now as for Benny Parsons I thought he was an okay announcer but he wasnt my favorite, in fact I didnt really have anyone on TNT that I really liked, unlike Fox where I love all the announcers. I like the new guy that they brought in and I like the Pit Road reporter, Lindsay, I think her name is. I also think she is really really pretty. I dont really have a problem with anyone except Wally!!

Kyle is a very intresting commentator. His knowledge of the sport as a driver really compliments Larry Mc.and his technical knowledge.Better than the Busch team of announcers.

Kyle is a racecar driver but.. he lost alot of his ooooph when he lost his good friend Davey Allison. I think he lost his will to drive like heck and give it his all.
Cant say as I can say he was not right to do so.. since Davey and Allan Kulwicki and Dale Sr. it has been very hard for us old fans to keep with the sport with the new guys on the block. And when Rusty retired.. is just flattend us all.
dont take it out onf Kyle he just lost interest.

I enjoy the commentary with the driver perspective that Kyle gives from the booth ---- but I would love to have DW with him -- I think that would be a hoot. I miss BP too and got happy when I saw the cameo of him when I watched Talladega Nights the other day -- Shake and Bake!!
P.S. How cool was it to see King Richard back behind the wheel and on the track tonite!

I totally agree. Although he wasn't a great racer, he's got a lot of heart! He's a good guy, and a really good announcer with a good take on the action on the track. Yes, I too miss BP.

I will support Kyle Petty, no matter what he chooses to do... I miss him driving in the races he has been in the booth for, and I think he can sing, well, too ...(remember 'Oh King Richard' ?)... anyway, KP is a great all-around guy and no one can argue with that...

I like Kyle as an announcer, too. But like you, I miss Benny Parsons terribly. It just doesn't seem right without him. RIP, BP!

Your right, I posed almost the same query after Kyle's first day annoucing and to a person (BIG SHOCK) everyone thought he was great.Sure Kyle wasn't the greatest racer ever, but he's truely a great human being and I as a fan always enjoy his insight as well as his compassion.
