I think youll be ok, as long as it was small. Keep an eye on him and if you notice anything out of the ordinary, call the vet.

milk chocolate isn't as bad as some but isn't good. Small amount depends on what you're thinking small amount...a soda bottle cap can make an 8# dog sick.

Generally the darker the chocolate the worse. A half pound of milk chocolate can be toxic for a 10# dog.
http://www.petplace.com/dogs/why-dogs-can-t-eat-chocolate/page1.aspx has some general info.

Have had a border collie get very sick on milk chocolate chocolate chips when she snagged a bag unnoticed for a bit. Many dogs die from eating chocolate...not good.

Depends what small is. If your 20 pound dog ate one milk chocolate Hersey's kiss, then you are OK. If your 10 pound dog ate a couple of ounces of dark chocolate, then it is time to call the 24 hour vet. Need more info to be of more help...

It depends on what type of chocolate (dark, milk, white) and how much your dog weighs. You can call the ASPCA poison control hotline and they can tell you. There is a specific formula to figure out the toxic level depending on type of chocolate and weight of dog. Since you have a pomeranian (a small dog) you should check with the ASPCA or call your vet.

A small amount will not harm your dog. Along with caffeine, chocolate has theobromine, which is the same chemical that gives you that feeling of satiation when you eat it. Dogs do not metabolize this, and it quickly builds up to toxic levels, which is fatal to them. It's best to avoid letting dogs have anything with chololate in it.

The main reason that Chocolate is bad for dogs is that it has caffeine in it. If he only ate a small piece he will be fine. Dogs aren't supposed to have caffeine so soda etc is not good either.
Don't worry, he will be fine.

it depends on how small. if it is small, i say don't worry so much, but just don't let it happen again.

but if it was a big chunk, call your vet. especially if your dog starts acting strange. it'll prob be hyper though, so don't get that confused with sick symptoms.

Moderation is not fine.

Keep an eye on him, and go to the vet with any sign of trouble.

If it were my dog, I'd already be at the vet.
