I had two cats that lived to be 20 years old. They were both female indoor/outdoor kitties, died within a month of each other.

Well I had a cat Quincey. I got him when I was 5 years old and he was just a little baby kitten. He died when I was in the 10th grade. So I guess that would have made him either 11 or 12. He was an outdoor cat. So I don't know if living indoors or outdoors makes a difference.

I had Siamese sisters that lived to be 15 &16, and a Calico now that is 16. The average age is 15-20. If they are indoor cats and they get regular vet check ups/vaccinations, good food-clean water, keep the litter box clean and have a very loving home, they can live a very long life....

I had a Siamese/Persian mix that lived about 20 years. I've had a Calico that lived about 6 years. I don't think "a good home" has much to do with how long they could live, except for the fact that a house cat would have a longer life expectancy than a street cat. Genetics has a lot to do with it too.

Some cats can live into their early 20's, but 15-16 is much more common.

I've had 4 cats in my lifetime

In my experience, and from what our veterinarians have told me, indoor cats who are cared for properly, generally have a lifespan of 15-20 years. Indoor/outdoor cats generally go 11-15 years, outdoor only cats 8-11 years.

Good luck with your cat, treat them right, and they'll give you unconditional love for the next 20 years.....

Most cats if healthy and kept indoors can live to be around 14-16 years old. My aunts cat was 18 when he had to be put down (due to kidney failure).

I had 2 cats that lived to be 17 and 18 yrs previous. (They kicked the bucket in the final 2 yrs). I fed them technological awareness nutrition regimen dry nutrition and a million/2 can on friskies moist nutrition as quickly as an afternoon. (Dry nutrition became out each and every of the time). typical visits to the vets. They have been the two indoor and exterior kitties (i'm in the country with no longer lots site visitors- so as that helped). an incredible form of affection, too.
