I think your son got baptized at this church because he felt comfortabe there. This is now he home church. I do not think anyone is telling him anything, he just wants to go to his home church, alot of people are like that once they join a certain church. Try not to be offended by this

Baptist churches believe in the independence of each local church. There is no higher earthly authority than the pastor. However, there are different groups of Baptists that may organize by region and such. This is an important concept to understanding your son'snew church. Baptists can't be painted with a broad brush so as to say "they all do ... as part of their worship."
That said, every congregation is a little or lot different. Some Baptist churches aren't even called "Baptist" in their title. Thus, and this is what I'm getting at, you have to know what makes your son attracted to the particular Baptist church that he attends. It could be something that they do, such as being active in youth activities, or holding a special worship service for young people, having a rock-style worship band that appeals to a certain age group.
Of course there are other beliefs that make them Baptist, such as adult (not infant) baptism, and the belief that personal profession of Christ as savior is necessary, but not speaking in tongues as proof of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. But telling someone that they can't go to a particular church is not Baptist (unless there is one that is especially egregious or, if he has run into one that has gone off the deep end).
I hope this helps.

Baptists are a very varied group that go from the more-or-less-liberal American Baptist Church through Southern Baptist to Fundamental Independent Baptist. Are your two churches in the same Baptist denomination?

Baptists believe (1) baptism of believers (no infants), (2) the Bible is without error and the sole authority, (3) once saved always saved.
They divide the world between those who are saved and those who are going to hell. If you accept Jesus into your heart as your personal Lord and Savior then you are saved.
I think that someone in your son's Baptist church told him that his father wasn't saved.

no i think it just sounds like he found somewhere he likes and he is comfortable. It shouldnt be an insult to you for him to not want to go to your church when he has his own. And if your not attending a baptist church than that could also be another reason.
here is a good site for you to look at, it will help explain the doctrine they believe...

First there are at least 57 different types of Baptists running around. Most of them are pretty much Bible based.
What kind of church do you attend?
Does it teach and preach the Bible?

Could be, if their beliefs are very different from yours. He may be asking questions about the differences, and of course since he is there, they will give answers that correspond to what they believe. Ask him, after all it is a parent's responsibility to educate their children about God.
