If you are planning to say Hell:
Rev. 20:14 "And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire"

After telling that death and hell were cast into the lake of fire, the Revelator adds, "this is the second death." It here, to me, implies an utter destruction, for, death and hades cannot be subjects of suffering, and, therefore, in this instance the lake of fire cannot signify a place of punishment, or of misery. Their being cast into a lake of fire can only intimate their final destruction.

Hell is being dead and buried.
There is a resurrection.
Judgment will follow.
The Lake of fire is a figurative expression for "permanent" death or destruction from which there will be NO resurrection.
After Death is thrown into the lake of fire, there will be no more death!
These are symbolic terms that those who lived at the time of the writing of scripture understood quite well.

Typically the lake of fire is used to describe hell as you point out, but I have recently decided that my ex-wife's bedroom is probably closer to the real lake of fire...LOL

I believe the lake of fire is the cleansing agent God uses for evil. So yes, hell gets cast into it!

Hell is a holding cell so to speak for the wicked who die on earth. Hell is the ruling place of satan. The lake of fire is the ultimate end for those in hell and for satan and all of his little imps. Don't just read a scripture and take it at face value study it out, you will be surprised by what you will learn.

Very good question.

Sounds like that some people think God is the Lake of Fire according to this web site. But, I have never heard very much about the meaning of this.

It's the place that will burn for an eternity. Hell is horrible, but perhaps it is not fire until it gets thrown into the Lake of fire.

I'm not planning on going! I've already made my plans to spend my eternity with Jesus in heaven.

It's a song by Nirvana. "Where do bad folk go when they die, they don't go to heaven where the angels fly. They go to a lake of fire and fry. See 'em again on the 4th of July."

I would say it is sort of God's incinerator, where He will toss everything that doesn't fit into His New Creation...such as death, and it's nasty companion, hell...
The fire can't be quenched...not until it is finished doing what God set it to do.
God is "making all things new"...

Tehe lake of fire is where Satan is going to be bound and placed for 1000 years. It is also where all those who rejected God will spend eternity. God had promised that he will not send any one to hell;however, those who deny him have put themselves there.
