On July 06, 2007 3 Navy Seals were killed in Iraq by small arms fire near Baghdad...My question is this...How many SEALS make up a usual team, and do the SEALS do a lot of urban fighting or were they caught in the wrong place at the wrong time???I had a chance to train with SEALS and they are the best in the world.No comparison..To the 3 SEALS now swimming in heaven, take care brothers....Semper Fi.......Killed were:

Petty Officer First Class Jason Dale Lewis, 30, of Brookfield, Conn.,

Petty Officer First Class Robert Richard McRill, 42, of Lake Placid, Fla.,

Petty Officer First Class Steven Phillip Daugherty, 28, of Barstow, Calif.

I *think* it is 16 in their operational element. A "Seal Team" as in Team 2 is much larger.

Yes, they do a lot of CQB and are pretty d*** good at it. They also do other things that would put them in that situation.

A moment of silence and 3 cheers and 3 chugs for our 3 fallen brothers. Even the enemy gets lucky some days. I'm sure their 13 brothers made the enemy pay dearly for this loss.

I want to say 7 makes team but that is mostly old information.
As a SEAL once told me if you hear of SEAL team mission it went bad.
RIP gentlemen you earn it and for all those in the military in this war you are in my nightly prayers.

Fair winds and following seas.

Eternal Father, strong to save,
Whose arm hath bound the restless wave,
Who bidd'st the mighty ocean deep
Its own appointed limits keep;
Oh, hear us when we cry to Thee,
For those in peril on the sea!
