I need to get some good volunteer work in for scholarships and pageants and just because i love helping ppl. I'm kind of having a hard time getting started and i was wondering if any of yall know of any good ways to raise money for foundations and things lyk that. Thanks guys!!!!

Habitat for humanity is one very good cause that is recognized by everyone and highly respected. They will also sign a log to validate the amount of time volunteered. They also have work that fits anyone criteria of expertise. Emergency shelters also need all the help that they can get, from baby setting to cleaning to filing. These are the 2 that I like but you can also look into boy's and girl's club of America, 4H, Boy-scouts, girl scouts, recycling efforts, and adopt a highway. Ways to raise money for a cause could include recycling aluminum cans, selling printed shirts for an event. placing and collecting coin jars, organizing bake sales, baked potato day, pancake feed. Try checking out your church for ideas. What kinds of things do you like to do? If you like pets, animals shelters are a great place to volunteer!

Go onto http://volunteermatch.org and look up volunteer opportunities in your area. You'll be amazed at how many local organizations are looking for volunteers
